Yeaaah, you clearly don't know what the word means either.

They didn't sell because they weren't meant to sell. GM imported them for a tax break in Australia and to keep the lines busy as they shut down the plants in Australia. The car received zero advertising. None. Zip, zilch, nada. It sold exactly as well as it was supposed to.
At just about every stop light, I catch people staring at it. I get people rolling up next to me just to give me a thumbs up. Occasionally I’ll hear people talking about it as I’m walking towards it in a parking lot, and frequently I get asked about it when I’m getting gas.
Yup, exactly. It was both a method of snagging a tax break for exporting x-number of vehicles, and a way to keep the production lines rolling at full capacity as they prepared to shut down the plant in Elizabeth. The car was never advertised, at all, because it was not meant to sell in great numbers.
Well that’s just ignorant. I bought my SS specifically because it’s an SS. Had it shipped sight unseen from upper Michigan to Kansas. I’ll agree that most of the GM lineup is boring and bland, but this car does NOT feel like any other GM car.
The SS “failed” because it was never meant to succeed. It was built and exported from Australia simply to get a tax break down there, and to fulfill an agreement with their auto union. GM didn’t want it to sell a lot, so they didn’t advertise the car at all.
Nope. I just took my ‘16 on a 2000-mile road trip, and the best I saw was 24 mpg. And that was with a super quick stop too get gas only.
The best was, by far, the #4 Corvette taking out the sign in 3/4. He went by, and it looked like it was just waving to all of us on spectator hill. The only other sign I recall getting taken out was on the front straight. I still want to watch the televised race to see what I missed.
They sold something like 527 of them in October. Considering they only produced ~3000 for MY16, it’s not surprising that you’re not finding any, as the MY17 is just now starting to hit dealer showrooms.
Ugly? Meh, I like it. It’s not as aggressive as a Charger, but the front fascia improvements and hood vents go a long way in improving the look of the ‘16-’17 SS.
The 20% off was a GM bonus tag incentive. Anything over that was dealer.
Hey there, another one! Picked up my ‘16 in October for 20% off + 8% off from dealer. Friggin’ BEAST of a car. Don’t even care that it’s a 6AT.
I bought a new 2016 SS for $36k back in October, and it’s hands down the best friggin idea I’ve ever had, short of marrying my wife. Used 2014s are now in the range OP stated, and have all the balls of his C6, because it has the same LS3.
Amen, brother.
That’s what makes it unique. Nobody gives mine a second look until the spot the red brembos or hear my exhaust when I shut down their attempt to pass me on the freeway on-ramp.
That particular car is at 1.3 MILLION miles. It’s also on the second engine and like third transmission. Still quite impressive, though.
I ran into him last week. He was flying down a main road, bangin' through the gears, and off the rev limiter. Took me two miles to catch up to him, and I was easily going 15 over.
"CBS wonders aloud if these licenses are good enough to get on a plane. The US Department of State replied that no, these counterfeits' holograms, while excellent, do not pass laser and ultra-violet light tests."
Except the article is wrong. They DO NOT have wastegates. So yeah. Who's the moron, exactly?
Why are you shitting on Volvo for being Chinese-owned and profess to have tuned a 9-5 when GM shat on Saab for years? It sounds like you're arguing for the sake of arguing.
