The reason people connect with and admire Clair Huxtable is because she is a complete, fleshed-out, interesting character.

Most venomous insects - and reptiles for that matter - have a very low kill rate. Even in Australia, where just about everything has evolved to get something nasty into you, only a handful of things are deadly for all but the most vulnerable of people.

There have been black-widow spiders in my house for 30 years and I leave them alone unless they are in a place that might be dangerous (such as in my bedroom). They've never given me any trouble, and they do keep the cricket population in check!!!
