We were all rapey back then...
Fuck this fucker to hell and back. I 100% believe her.
LOOOOOOOL being full of shit is a nuanced opinion everyone!
I had a reply for you, but damn you aren’t worth the time.
Until a person who has committed an offense has actually acknowledged what they’ve done, apologized, and made every effort to make amends, I refuse to accept them as a fellow human. I don’t care if it’s cutting me off in traffic or murder.
Its dumb occasion to stake your principle on. The Washington Post gave it a horrible review. The AV Club may have it in for a misunderstood celebrity book tanked when he tried to give it away in audio book format FOR FREE last year. Its a shitty book by someone who more than likely wouldn’t listen to an editor. There…
“Just link Fallon who actually apparently has and save us this redundancy.”
THEY DID IN THE ARTICLE. Oh my fucking god, make sure you’re right before you complain.
All the quoted excerpts explain slamming Sean Penn quite well, actually.
Dude, there are QUOTES FROM THE BOOK in these reviews.
Can someone draw up a psychological profile of a man who would write that poem but has not sexually assaulted anyone? Because I am coming up blank.
I think that Greer was doing a bad job of distinguishing between women who are harassed and those few who may be deliberately sleeping their way to the middle. In her time there was this idea that a lot of women were sleeping their way up. I think that that may have been a rationalization of the harassment that was…
She referred to Harvey Weinstein’s victims as whinging about consent. She made no clear distinction between those who had sexual relationships with him, probably pressured into it, and the women he raped. If that is what she meant, it’s a shitty analogy.
Then she used a shitty example using a man who raped women. This isn’t even an imbalance of power, they said no and he forced them to have sex anyway. Saying you agree with someone’s flawed analogy means you’re ripe for the same misinterpretation of the original comment.
Did you actually read what Greer wrote?
I wonder if the ‘back in the good old days” syndrome is part of this. When Germaine Greer blasted onto the scene women still had to wear a dress to work. So much has happened in the last 50 years - maybe its hard for some of them to catch up. I know I am struggling and tend to revert to “when I was your age I walked…
maybe......the part where you said that you completely agreed with greer? and that’s what she did?
Harvey Weinstein committed rape, you (and Germaine) seem to imply they were asking for it. And you think the best way to combat rape is to make it a misdemeanor? GTFOH. That’s not group think, that’s not being an asshole.
Props to Greer for her excellent early work.
I’m happy and grateful these women called Franco out on his shit. But also sad they think he’s capable of change.
