um, referring to Europe as some homogeneous bloc is the same as referring to 'Africa' as if it were a single country rather than a continent - ignorant.

but they don't. "Polls even show that 80 percent of locals don't even want an abortion ban". unfortunately, they were stupid and elected a right wing party and MPs who willingly disregarded the will of the people. spain is in the middle of a huge economic crisis, and the right got elected because that's what always

agree she's had work done, possibly a little too much. but nowhere near madonna and the golf balls she had screwed into her face that she calls cheekbones.

well, that didn't take long...

not too old. but definitely too pathetic, plastic and desperate. though speaking of plastic, jessica lange needs to stop whatever she's doing right now before she goes too far. charlotte rampling is a goddess.

commendable. but way less funny.

yeah i think these are pretty funny. and people always joke about famous deaths or scandals. anyone remember all the princess diana jokes? or the ayrton senna jokes after his car crashed (what was the last thing that went through ayrton senna's head? his spine), etc. no biggie.

that's the thing - so many people seem to want to do it that way, in no small part because they keep getting told that everything that's wrong with the world today is because our parents let us roam free and eat processed food and sugar. and not just in park slope. my brother and his wife, a lot of my friends seem to

and attachment parenters. and co-sleepers. and vegans... basically, all kinds of annoying ;)

if you're a raging germphobe, you need therapy, not a home birth.

i'd rather risk a bug than brain damage to the kid from being strangled with the cord, or a dead kid from not getting to the hospital in time for an emergency c-section. i guess my priorities are all fucked up ;)

Duh. Women used to die all the time giving birth at home, why anyone would want to go back to that is mind-boggling. Hospitals and doctors are there for a reason. You can have a midwife if you want but deliver in a hospital in case anything goes wrong.

i get what you're saying, and yeah in the grand scheme of things these women don't have much to worry about in life, but that doesn't mean that they're not allowed to write and debate about their experiences just because there are women who don't have those privileges?

attachment parenting. helicopter parenting. bullshit like "structured play". co-sleeping. basically, parents are expected to micromanage every single aspect of their kids' lives. children aren't taught to play by themselves anymore and instead have to have parents with them constantly, playing, teaching, coddling,

what does privilege have to do with this? or are people no longer allowed to write books and articles for a certain target audience (college educated, professional women) without it having to become an issue?

didn't take long for the first of the debbie downers to show up...

i know what you mean but i just question whether a legal ban is even necessary. some practices do die out on their own. lots of us grew up with parents who smoked and who smoked around us, yet there was no need to ban smoking in people's houses and you'll be hard pressed to find a parent who still smokes around their

ok, smarty pants, how would you enforce the ban on spanking? since 99.9% of the spankings wouldn't even get reported...

the same way i know bullying and humiliating your kid in the name of discipline does more harm than good too, even though i never experienced either. i must have, like, magical powers or something.

no, it's only illegal in delaware according to the original article.
