There are definitely people that wanted this movie to be bad. You just have to look through the comments of past stories to see people going way too far in their dislike of DC movies, and especially too far in criticizing the work of Zack Snyder. 

A little bit of that is fine for Thor’s character. I loved “I need a horse” from the first one. However, it doesn’t need to be every damn minute of the movie. It’s OK to take your movie/character serious sometimes, which Ragnarok never seemed to do.

There are plenty of humorous lines in it. Clark and Lois have some good banter. The military woman that says Superman is “kind of hot...” They’re there, but everyone just remembers the final battle.

Yeah, but my understanding is that Justice League has plenty of humor as well. Weird that it’s allowed for some movies and not others. Critics came ready to hate, IMO.

When they play Surtur for laughs instead of terror, yep then I think they’re just making fun of it.

Then you’d probably be surprised. I’ve loved virtually every Marvel movie. Thor 3 just took it too far in my opinion. When Asgard gets blown up and someone immediately makes a joke about it that’s when it’s just too far for me.

To each his own, but there’s no way Thor: Ragnarok is 95% “Fresh”. The movie constantly makes fun of its character, undercutting any potential cool moment with a dumb joke. It seemed to be embarrassed by its main character. When I see that get such good reviews, the bias thing gets more and more credible.

Same on both accounts. I just watched MoS and people have a memory of the movie that doesn’t match with the reality. Plenty of heart, a more complicated hero, and despite what some say -- doses of humor sprinkled throughout.

There was virtually no chance that AV Club would give this a good review. You’ve had your mind made up about the movie for the last year and a half. Meanwhile, Thor: Ragnarok (a movie that never stopped making fun of it’s main character) has praise lavished on it...

The scenes in Ralph’s office and in the hospital were very effective. I like that we’re seeing different sides to Ralph. His interactions with the little girl were touching.

That would be awesome. Plus, with his arrows, he’s got the perfect weapon to take them on!

OK, this sounds interesting. I want to check this one out.

I really like the idea. He could provide a nice shot in the arm and I’d much rather see the team go up against a physical presence. My first choice would still be to have the Squad go up against a human, non-powered threat.

Usually a big fan of Sackhoff’s, but she was so annoying tonight. Cringed every time she was on screen. Much bigger fan of the shenanigans B-story.

Yes to all of that. Also, that they weren’t bitter to one another. They want different things out of life, which is something that really happens to all couples.

Two really good episodes in a row. Supergirl is on a roll!
