I guess I never bothered to look at Hyundai/Kia as a car I would consider. I guess I should. Four tailpipes are a problem of a lot of cars.
Hyundai/Kia does this (come on, a Sonata 2.0T with four tailpipes?), but we expect better of Honda don’t we?
To be honest I don’t think Honda’s marketing department actually intends to “lie” to or otherwise mislead consumers with exaggerated performance claims.
It’s more; it’s form lying about function.
Warning: Honda rant.
Come on, don’t even for a second pretend that this isn’t 99.9999 percent of the production model. Maybe a few doo-dads here and there will be different on the finalized version, but this is basically it.
With you, I think the new civic in any form is one of the ugliest new cars available.
But it is nothing a grown assed man is going to purchase.
This makes 580HP. Each of the front openings has a radiator. There are two intercoolers in the back (in the rear fascia), and the side pods are intakes.
I also dislike how modern cars’ front bumpers have to push out so far into the corners—gives the car an over-sized mouth guard look. I know it’s for aerodynamics and hence better gas mileage, but for sporty cars like the 3 series and the Si here, it’s really out of place.
Agree 100%. My JCW has the same exact thing and I freaking hate it. Although it appears that like my Mini, there is a real hole one one side that actually serves as a functional vent.
The new Civic looks like it was designed for a slightly smaller car (like something the size of the older Civic) then fairly late in the process the decision was made to enlarge the car and so the design was awkwardly stretched and warped to fit (especially the rear from the doors back)...
It’s just too gaudy. Perfect for a high school student, not so much a recent college grad (or professional).
I don’t think you’re in the minority. The only ones who really seem to be pushing the looks of this thing are the Jalopnik staff.
I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I really am not a fan of the new gen Civic. Even in Si form it just looks so bloated to me, really just doesnt do it.
The more I look at this thing, the more I like it.
good to know.
Poor NSX. Trump probably grabbed it by the intake manifold.
This made me think of what I believe would be an awesome idea for autonomous cars though! The illusion of speed via some kind of fun button (Fast & Furious button?). For starters, pressing the button could at first make all your screens (center console and virtual instrument cluster) show like the ‘Star Wars entering…
