FYI, running out of fuel many times in hot weather severely lowers its’ life expectancy. Note, inline pumps are cheaper, and last way longer! Just remove the pump from the sending unit, add on some rubber fuel line to extend from the pickup screen to the outlet, bolt (With rubber bushings) the inline to the frame…

Actually, it sucks (Modern day cars) through a little well NEAR the bottom. You get low on gas hit a few bumps, voila. Had to replace a tank and pump once because of this. That is why you can still get a solid tank steamed. :-)
