You are comparing a plastic canopy to a triangulated carbon fiber reinforced structure. 

The canopy can trap smoke and also the plastic can act like a magnifying glass in hot and sunny days also make it difficult to exit. The halo does block a little bit of the line of sight, but doesn’t create any other difficulties( except aero maybe).

Did a road trip from Montreal to California through Florida in a 240sx. The car was great. We were two and there was enough space for carry-on’s in the trunk and back seats had our snacks and back packs. These guys have daddy mobiles with tons of space why would they need ski racks?
