And it's passed.

Now playing

I wholeheartedly support this. But I'm someone that quit Facebook last year and hasn't looked back (except needing it to log in to Kinja).

I'm inclined to believe that whatever impact it had was softened by her being "appointed by God" or, more specifically, by people willing to accept a female head if it meant they a shot at whatever power was left over at the formation of the the C of E.

Even as a Brit, it always infuriates me that stuff like this is still an issue when we've had a Queen for over 60 years. There are so few people in this country that have lived under a male head of state it's truly disgusting that the notion that a woman can't do anything based on her gender even exists.

And a country that makes absolutely no attempt to change this?

Yup, my drama teacher had an exercise she made us do once where you have to imagine that your entire universe is a spotlight tightly focused just you (not hard for some people), and she would then slowly ask us to expand that light until it started encompassing other people that you would have to acknowledge as

So bloody spot on. It's a cycle, a never ending cycle where we, as a culture, have to accept our fair share of blame. It's not just child stars, we put people up on pedestals and then love to watch them fall off. It's just more tragic when it's a kid.

You know what, I'm kind of over hating Suarez now, he's simply a symptom of a larger disease. It's almost impressive how people switch from condemnation of his actions to closing ranks and towing the party line laid down by FIFA. If I were to have bitten even a fraction of the people Suarez has assaulted, I'd have

Luis Suarez is really sorry about biting that guy during the World Cup.

And that he won't be the last.

You know what? I think this one is struggling with gay feelings too.

"and if I take a bath and call it a baptism, the courts will be cool, right?"

And don't fall for all the story promises they make.

It's futile to ask FIFA to kick corruption out of Football, especially since it still has (in the UK at least) problems with Racism, Sexism and Homophobia.

I've just never heard of using baptism as a way to repent for something or be cleansed of his sins, which is what it seems like he's doing.

It's potentially worse than that; he's using people's beliefs as a "get out of jail free" card.

Wooo!

If you want it to be. It's intended as an Atheistic jab at religion but that interpretation still works.

To be fair, it's not the first time people have killed in the name of something that isn't real.
