It didn’t matter what the mayor did as there was an Emergency Financial Manager (state appointed dictator) who already went forward and the mayor was trying to do an end around but got snubbed at that as well.

I live in Flint. The KWA was the county drain commissioner’s darling not the city of Flint. DWSD started to raise prices to the point that Flint couldn’t steal from the water and sewer fund (illegally) to pay day to day costs for the city and still have people afford the water.

No there was huge backlash to Detroit water. The only people that wanted it was government types.

I like the idea of testing welfare recipients. In Michigan the Ilitch family who owns the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings have received hundreds of millions of state money to build private stadiums so I say test them first.  

In high school I had a drafting class that was all boys and I can tell you it became very misogynistic and Lord of the Flies ish. We were allowed to pick on others and do things like play the fart game and swear without fear of punishment. It was not a good situation to say the least.

I live in Flint and it wasn’t a “few million” it was between$100-$200 per day they wanted to save. A business likes to save whenever you can and the state appointed dictator saved us $100 a day.
