Especially since Trump repeatedly messages his success despite all evidence to the contrary. An poorly educated populace will hear a simple message and believe it if the contradicting evidence is even slightly more challenging to hear.

It’s due to the massive tsunami of Anti-Intellectualism that has been spread intentionally by the far right and the hate groups. It is much easier to mislead an idiot than someone with any level of real education.
The thing I am most worried about these days is the recent poll that showed that 58% of Americans think Trump is intelligent. I literally can’t fathom being so stupid and/or ignorant that you were capable of thinking Trump was intelligent.
I’ve been curious about that map, is it the real votes or the one that has been floating around since November with more red victories than actually reported?
A room full of gunowners and not one “accidental” misfire.
I guess the NRA won’t be happy until every white American is required to carry around an assault rifle at all times.
It will take exactly one March nearby of colored citizens who are open carrying for Trump to have a come to Mammon moment on gun control. See: Ronald Reagan, California.
Thanks for the list. People forget that the NRA isn’t really a gun owners’group (though they market themselves as such), but rather a gun manufacturers’ lobbying group.
If Trump banned guns his supporters would convince themselves that they’ve always been pro gun control and start sneering at Killary and her paid speeches to the NRA.
As a gun owner and hunter who wishes the NRA would go die in a fire I can tell you exactly what they want.
The NRA has learned that keeping people in a heightened sense of fear about their guns is good for sales and is good for politics. They are so ferocious in their opposition to gun laws that they essentially have both parties pinned on the federal level; Obama passed the same number of gun laws as Bush, and Trump will…
“The 8-year assault” is going to go down in history as one of his most outrageous absurdities given the backdrop of the gun sales and saturation achieved even under the threat of Kenyan Muslim Confiscation Forces...
When Trump says to the NRA, “You came through for me and I am going to come through for you.” - what more do they want? Automatic machine gun sales? Bazookas for the family?
Boy, I’m glad that Trump is going to be a friend to the NRA because they’ve had such a hard time the past decade, what with all the restrictive gun control laws that we’ve seen from a Congress that hates guns so much.
Trump to the gun death cult: you have a worshipper in the White House.
Yeah I’m sure he’s a huge fan of people being armed to protect us from tyranny. Little too late for that.
Given Trump’s record of not keeping his promises and doing 180 on his platforms, how long will it take before he tries to ban guns and rifles? I know that this would consider political career suicide but I don’t think he is smart enough to know that. I can see him actually going for it.
It is amazing that Trump can with a straight face imply that gun owners have had anything but unchecked rights to owning guns over the last 8 years. For fucks sake, 20+ children were murdered in their classrooms and our government was like hey y’all, second amendment...sorry for your luck! I guess the NRA won’t be…

To Trump’s credit, he did manage to f up Atlanta’s traffic today more than anyone thought humanly possible- so there’s that for an accomplishment.
