I just cannot picture a scenario in which Petr Mrazek is the goalie I plan to develop over a lot of these younger guys. Mrazek is fine, but a lot of other guys with more potential there, in my opinion.

I think, with the glut of goaltender options, they’re assuming the VGK are going to pass on Mrazek. As you said, it seems a foregone conclusion that they’re going to take Fleury. But there’s others available too, particularly some younger ones: Malcolm Subban, Calvin Pickard, Joonas Korpisalo, etc.
Philadelphia 2019.
Are you all any good? I just took it up, recently, and pleasantly found out that I am a decent tennis player.
Does anyone on staff play tennis?
Old Bay makes everything shittier.
I moved from Philly to Baltimore just recently! Baltimore is actually just Philly on a small scale!
All I wanna do? Have some fun...
Fuck that antelope. I have read that giraffes can kick so hard as to decapitate a lion. That damn antelope is lucky...
It’s not to get Western PA ratings...it’s to get their stars national airtime. Casual hockey fans will tune in to watch Crosby or Malkin or Roethlisberger (not to mention the history of the two franchises), but no one is actually going to tune in for uh....McCutchen and a busted Pirates team.
Holy shit. Sen. McCain is having a stroke on live TV.
I don’t follow basketball too much, and I don’t know anything about the spending that happens in basketball in terms of salaries and luxury taxes and caps (if there is one), but it has always amazed me that the Cavs can’t get someone like Durant to go to Cleveland and play with LEBRON FUCKING JAMES.
I live in Baltimore City. We have mourning dove nests all over the goddamn place. Recently, over the winter, one of them built itself a nest on my window ledge. Now whenever I open the window to sleep at night, I hear that motherfucker coo-ing at five in the morning. I feel bad knocking out the nest, but it’s gotta be…
Last 3 games:
I refer back to my comment on Game 2. It was a tough game, but maybe one of the goals was soft. The rest were a combination of bad defense and bad puck luck. They’ve got the defense sorted out and the puck is bouncing their way now.
I said it when Barry wrote that Rinne was bad/in his own head in Game 2, the Predators had zero puck luck in the first two games and their defense was consistently out of position. They’ve really cleared up defensive issues, and good things happen when you do what you’re supposed to.
I played in a collegiate summer league where we got to use wooden bats—it’s actually a weird change—and I actually had this happen to me as a SS. Having sharp broken bits of a bat come flying at you is not something that you can prepare for, but I remember the one time that the ball knocked off of the bat and I had no…
I think I’d call the first Guentzal goal soft, but still a defensive lapse (why is he so alone down low!?); the rebound goal a defensive lapse (three Preds backchecking and no one picked up Guentzal?!); the third goal was a fluke (relatively good positioning, but some ridiculous bounce right after he opens his…
Well, yes. Obviously I meant recently. The early/mid-2000s are more than a decade past. Since those players we’ve had, like I said, Hernandez. That’s it. Right? Oh Jesus, it’s honestly worse than I realized.
I’m not even sure of that. Honestly, I cannot name a single player they’ve brought up through their own system who has been consistently successful (exception maybe Cesar Hernandez?). At a certain point, you’ve gotta think that the coaches or organization is doing something wrong, right? They’ve got guys with talent…
