So is this like Sea of Thieves and Blackflag where you control a single character/pirate and can explore by land and sea or are you confined to ship, naval combat? Haven’t had a chance to check out the footage from today but the impression I got from when it was revealed is that it’s basically an updated version of

It just comes off as SE being tone deaf. They know this is one of the most highly demanded and anticipated games, perhaps ever. I can understand them being reluctant to show off anything until the game is ready but I don’t know how they could possibly think dead silence is the right move.

But they don’t need to show anything, an update would be better than nothing. A simple “We are still hard at work on the FFVII Remake but don’t have anything to show at the moment” would be more reassuring than complete silence.

But if you are Square, or any company, how is complete silence about an already announced product better than some kind of update? As much as people would love a trailer, gameplay footage, or an actual release date I think most people would be satisfied with any kind of update. Even if it’s something as simple as

“It is inexplicable that Square Enix thought this was a good idea.”

They’re focusing on those 4 games but we still don’t know if that means those will be the only games shown or if there will be smaller announcements, reveals, and teases made around those games. I just find it hard to believe Sony would, essentially, give their entire show away by only showing the 4 games mentioned.

I wonder if Square is saving a game or two for the Sony conference. FFVII Remake debuted during Sony’s show maybe it will show up there again. I was hoping for word on the Marvel/Avengers game but I doubt it will be shown with Spiderman being a big focus. Would they really show off two marvel games at the same

I was so pumped for Andromeda and it just never sucked me in like the previous games did. Tried going back to it and had a friend, who was a fan of the original games, tell me that it wasn’t even worth it

Agree. I probably would have been all over Sea of Thieves if there was a solo campaign and/or local co-op. Cool idea with the online multiplayer but you cant expect to sell well when the biggest complaint is a lack of content. A lot of gamers learned their lessons early this generation after the first Destiny.

Hahaha I was going to say something similar to that. I guess it shifted a bit from “Xbox One has no exclusives” to “Xbox one lacks great exclusives.” I think of the exclusives I’ve played and outside of Ori and the Blind Forest and Cuphead there haven’t been any that I’ve loved or thought were great.

Also part of the issue. If you have a solid PC why buy an Xbox? I guess the One X could be intriguing (reasonable price for a console capable of 4k gaming with a 4k Blu Ray player) but I feel like most PC gamers would rather invest that money towards their PC.

That’s what we were saying before Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 released. Those games were certainly better than nothing but they didn’t do enough to change the narrative about Xbox One exclusives. It didn’t help that God of War was sandwiched between those releases as legit game of the year, maybe even game of

“They need to stop trying to make Days Gone happen.”

Same thing I was thinking. You can’t really credit Microsoft for “delivering” for a game like Assassin’s Creed Origins much like you can’t criticize them for Metro: Exodus being delayed and “not delivering.” I’d say the same thing for Sony or Nintendo when it comes to multiplats or games that aren’t quite under their

My opinion is a little bias because I’m not really into the online multiplayer aspects of Gears or Halo, which is the biggest selling point of both games. With Gears 4 it was just too much of the same for me. I was excited when it was announced and I enjoyed playing it but there just wasn’t anything all that

Would be cool I just don’t see that happening.

Pretty much agree. Just a shame because that series, especially the first two games, nailed the sci-fi horror genre. Id love to see a sequel or reboot that recaptures what made those first two games so great.

Completely with you. The only way I see myself getting excited for a new Gears or Halo is if they do a God of War type of reimagining for the series’. Gears 4, while not a bad game, was just too much of the same for me. It was basically the same old Gears with better graphics and a few minor additions to the

How was Recore? I know it didn’t receive very positive reviews when it released but I’ve heard patches and updates improved the game a bit. Been one of those games I’ve considered checking out.

Personally I don’t see myself getting excited for another Halo and Gears of War. They would really have to bring something new to the table to get me interested. I feel like those games are going to be more of the same, probably with the addition of some type of Battle Royale mode if I had to guess.
