Timing didn’t help, but responding to criticism with “deal with it” today is still going to upset potential customers. Xbox initially tried to dig their heels in and take the approach of, “if you don’t like it too bad.” That has nothing to do with timing, that’s simply bad PR.

I disagree about Microsoft not learning from past mistakes, because I think that’s exactly what they did. They realized their problem was more about approach and marketing. They re-emphasized their focus on games and gamers, instead of an all-in one media machine. Now they can market Game Pass as a way to play

100%. I don’t know what was worse, Microsoft’s terrible explanation or their poor response to the criticism. It’s one thing to attempt something new and have confusing messaging as to how it all works and why it’s necessary, it’s another issue to tell critics and potential customers to “deal with it” if they don’t

Unfortunately this isn’t at all surprising. I even thought Ubisoft would make the main character a created one to avoid the backlash. One thing that did surprise me was that this wasn’t the main topic in the comment sections I viewed, which were actually mostly positive.

It doesn’t have anything to do with a game being more fun because other people can’t play it. It ‘s just that people enjoy those games and if they want to play them they basically need a Playstation console, unless they want to wait until they are available on PC which has no set time frame.

For me, my enjoyment of the Playstation exclusives is the main difference between the consoles, but if they aren’t your thing then it makes sense to go with an Xbox. The consoles are mostly similar otherwise. The way I see it, I pretty much get everything an Xbox has to offer + the PS exclusives. Without must play

Unfortunately, a lot of people will use the excuse that they don’t like the show making changes as a way to deflect the fact they are just being hateful. When you see people complaining about characters being raced swapped, an episode focusing on two gay characters, or Sam being deaf on the show, it’s easy to figure

Also have to love how some of them will try to spin their narrative and make excuses to claim that their opinion isn’t about hate.

The sequel and show have really shown the worst side of some gamers/people. The ignorance is dumbfounding.

Nope, yet for some reason I still can’t believe the things people get angry over. Yesterday, I took a peak at the comment section on Gamespot for an article on Bella Ramsey’s response and the comments at the time were pretty much people complaining about the “wokeness” of the show (can you believe they made changes

I think Ellie helps to bring some joy to the show, but there only so much joy you can bring to a world and story like this. I will say, as bleak as TLOU is, I find it to be a tad more up beat and joyful than something like the Walking Dead. Ellie reading puns and ending an episode with a diarrhea would never have

I was listening to his Lost Theme albums the other week and they had me wishing for one last Carpenter movie. He’s an absolute legend. No one makes movies quite like Carpenter.

John Carpenter would do a Dead Space movie?! YES PLEASE! RIGHT NOW! EA, if you have done so already, reach out to this legend!

At the risk of sounding like a hater, I can’t see a Goldeneye Remaster being anything more than a quick hit of nostalgia that fades fast. I know its legacy and the fond memories many gamers have for it, but in the year 2022, I can’t imagine it holding up well against modern shooters of the past decade+.

Not only internet memes, but the idea that trending and online engagement = potential customers and profit. Companies are putting a little too much stock in follows and trending on the internet.

Well yes, in that regard you are right, but was there any indication of the direction this twist was going to go? Obviously I don’t expect them to spoil the game but I feel like there could have been some kind of warning about how messed up the twist would be. Like I think about how certain horror movies will try to

I’d say the people they were aiming the game at aren’t necessarily people they thought would be fans of the twists. I don’t think there was any indication the game would go this route in the pre-release footage and promotional content (not from what I saw at least). It seems like they were banking on people being

Dafoe seems to enjoy working on these out there projects. A lot of the things he’s involved with seem to be things that will make you go “WTF?!” at some point.

I see nothing wrong with spoiling twists as long as there is a warning. It’s one thing if someone in the comment section or on Twitter is intentionally posting spoilers to ruin a game, movie, tv show, book, etc. But in this case anyone that wants to avoid the spoiler can easily do so by not reading the article beyond

I’d add the caveat of “sometimes.” Like for me, reading spoilers for a game like TLOU2 wouldn’t be a fair way to judge that game and story. I would have felt a lot different about that game if I just read some bullet point spoilers instead of playing and experiencing the game and story beginning to end. For the record
