This is insane to me lol. On someone’s birthday should only they get cake or dinner? You make a special meal in honor of the person and you make it about them, but food is no fun if you are the only one eating it.
Instead of using the grill which I imagine would have a harder time regulating the temperature, I purchased an induction burner from amazon. I can sear meat and fish and deep fry outside without stinking up and dirtying my home.
Once it’s done you should broil it first then baste it with ketchup. Would improve the texture and add that yummy browned meat flavor.
