Bobbi is my favorite female character on this show now. Her fight scenes have decent choreography and she actually looks like she could throw down with these guys. They need to pair her up with a solid male character though. The relationship between Hunter and her isn't doing anything for me. She had some good scenes

I don't remember Uncle Deadly at all but he's becoming my favorite character

That's a great catch. I didn't notice a difference in the time between the diner and the watch.

I love both Rob Heubel and Jason Mantzoukas but that story fell a little flat for me. Oddly I found the funniest joke in that segment when they 'cut off the water' and it was just them putting a board over the well.

Fred Savage and Marry Elizabeth Ellis' chemistry is one of the highlights. While their conversation 'gags' don't always land for me it is always entertaining to watch their banter. Anyone else notice that the Todd character is really almost the same character that Steve Little played on Eastbound and Down? Hopefully

Paget Brewster is underrated in this show. When Gerald was laughing at their dinner together and just said 'this is weird' I had a bit of a giggle. I don't really see a lot of people talking about it but the child actor who plays Edie gets some really great gags. In the first episode she had the little kiss she shared

They were indeed walking under an umbrella at one time. Someone else pointed out it was a good way to get them closer together.

You are correct, it was good detective work. What's your take on the moment when he's in the road and time seems to speed up and there's the lights in the sky? Does it imply he has some spiritual connection to the ufo that was seen there? I was thinking maybe it left some kind of residual 'energy' there that he tapped

I do have to say the relationship with her sister had so far shown some promise. It has led to the two most well acted moments in both episodes, anyhow. Both moments, however, were Melissa Benoist acting off her mothers hologram.

Her rain boots were dorky but suited her. She was the only one wearing them though. Does going vegan give you weather based knowledge that others don't have access to?

This is the kind of knowledge that I didn't know I needed until I read it.

"Have you been tested for STD's? Tell me please?" This was my laugh out loud moment this week. She really gives it her all with these ridiculous outfits.

Every time he talks I just hear that stupid bumbling blowfish from 'Finding Nemo'.

The mystical Native American tracker trope at work there I think. I think its sort of like the 'magical negro' trope?

I think it might have originally been a throw away gag with Superman way back in the golden age of comics. They do imply he has super strong hair in some of the media. Remember the Superman film where a single strand of his hair is holding up that huge weight?

The dialogue does leave a little to be desired but its not so bad as to make me want to turn the show off. I can't shake the feeling I'm going to be trying to justify this show to people in a few weeks after the sheen of finally having a female superhero show on television wears off. I have a feeling they'll squander

She used a mirror and her heat vision to pierce her ears when she was a child

The story of this episode….is that it was extremely personal.

Hey I agree with you there. Part one was a pretty solid film. The scene where they dance together in the tent actually made me briefly think they were going to toss away the books and pair those two up. Which would actually have been correct based on what she's said about their relationship now.

You are correct that the time turners are addressed in the books. I believe the shelf falls over and stands up then breaks again in some kind of loop. i don't think that it's ever addressed in the films though.
