For me the highlight of Simpsons’ background gags have always been the one liners shouted in the crowd of murmuring voices. For my money it doesn’t get any better than in the PTA disbands episode where Skinner and Krabappel are having their stage debate and Skinner just rubs his fingers together in the universal sign

Two things on Raiders:

I was going to make a snarky joke but you know I get this womans angle.  Teaching kids about an event in as tasteful a way possible.  Also hell I grew up on the Magic Treehouse series.  It's how I learned about Clara Barton, the coolest woman of the 1860s.  So yeah Kate, keep on writing.

I do know what neoliberalism is and I didn’t call you an idiot. Please tell us more about the AV Club’s neoliberal agenda.

I like a bit of entertaining ambitious nonsense now and then. Not all the time, but in a world where Bethesda wants to drain players for monthly Fallout 76 subscriptions, there's something comforting and endearing about Kojima making an earnest game about human connections and using piss to make grenades to fight

god i can’t wait. this is the sort of impenetrable bullshit i’ve been missing in my life

Petchesky was just canned, unbelievable.

As someone who was once part of a similar insurrection against arrogant, incompetent, and condescending management, I want to applaud all of y’all for today’s showing. I’m sure you’re simultaneously enjoying the fun of mutiny while also understanding the risk. Please also know how much it means to us here in the feebl

Can you let me know when you will be returning to sports coverage so I can go back to checking in once or twice per day? I have a lot to do today at work and all of these posts about non-sports topics are distracting because I Must Read Every Single One of Them. Whereas with the sports stuff I really only care if its

You guys are awesome. It is not hyperbole to say that this site often gets me through the day. Keep up the good work, and for the love of god do not stick to sports.

Sure it’s Kinja?

Next time: Mel Brooks’ raunchy, anarchic bash Blazing Saddles gleefully eviscerates two American traditions, the Western and racism”

So much good stuff in the end credits, but I love ‘Welcome back to Who Gives A Shit?’ when he’s sitting there with Letterman.

Now playing

“2001” was my first art damage experience. My parents took me to see it at the drive in the year after it had been released. By the end of the film my Dad and siblings were sound asleep but I was transfixed with bulging eyes glued to the screen. I was a bit of a sci-fi kid having grown up on the Irwin Allen shows and

The first time I watched 2001 at home I spent most of it struggling not to fall asleep, the second time I appreciated it more but still remained at a distance. Then last year I went to see it in IMAX and was already in tears for the second half of the prologue and the entire first Blue Danube sequence, it was one of

“We trained him wrong on purpose, as a joke!”
It’s a movie that walks that line between terrible and hilarious for me - it’s just insanely quotable.

“I’m bleeding, making me the victor.”

“I implore you to reconsider!” ...”Ok.”

Kung pow is an amazingly stupid funny movie. It’s a half dubbed over, half original movie stitched together by one guy and I love it.

It’s a terrible film, but I still say “that’s a lot of nuts!” to this day.
