TBH the last person I want talking about SW canon (and wouldn’t you know it, he’s being hyperbolic) is the shittiest writer on this site who snarks at every damn thing for no reason.

Leia doesn’t introduce herself or, more importantly, say who her father is in that message. Clearly she expects Obi-Wan to know who she is on sight.

Also fuck Sam Barsanti, it can’t be said enough.

Phantom Menace was the first film I remember seeing in theatres and anybody that tries to take my extremely nostalgic enjoyment of this Obi-Wan Kenobi show can go fuck themselves.

Thanks for the nothingburger, Sam

Eh, not that much. It makes some of the lines in A New Hope a bit squishy, but it’d still have been a decade or so between their meeting.

You know, I’d never really thought about it until this show, but I totally see the Republic actually putting out word that Anakin died instead of totally going traitor.  Use him as an inspiring story rather than one of defeat.

Disney Plus’ latest Star Wars spin-off arrives with a somewhat surprising appearance from a certain princess

I was a kid once and all my parents’ adventures happened because I didn’t listen and caused problems. This is the most realistic and grounded Star Wars has ever been.

I dunno. I didn’t find it awful or at all distracting.

That's not a plot hole.

Shut the fuck up, Barsanti, this was great.

So clearly Sam isn’t actually a Star Wars fan. At least i09 is reviewing the show too.

Of course… it will really break the canon if Obi-Wan and Vader meet at any point before A New Hope, but we’ll see how Obi-Wan Kenobi handles that.

Is the field between Episode III and IV really that “crowded?” There was one animated show, “Rogue One”, (which is so, so close to IV that it scarcely qualifies) and now this*.....

You’d think a Star Wars nerd would've learned long ago that Star Wars doesn't give a shit about so-called established canon.

Yeah. Leia’s message is Leia in diplomatic mode, but when Luke comes into the detention block he says something like, “I’m here to rescue you. I’ve got your R2 Unit... I’m here with Ben Kenobi.” At which point she excitedly shouts, “Ben Kenobi is here! Where is he?” Which implies that her connection to Obi-Wan is more

I’m very confused by how AV club references Fallen Order but doesn’t know that Amidala got reams of character development in Clone Wars.

“Leia’s “help me Obi-Wan Kenobi” message that she gives to R2-D2 in the movie seems to imply that she and Obi-Wan do not know each other, but she eventually does meet Obi-Wan in part two of the premiere and she hears him referred to as Obi-Wan—despite his insistence that he is called “Ben.””
