Professional Dog Walker here. I NEVER allow my clients to get close enough to strangers to jump on them. That’s not how to do it.

Amen.
Do you, or anyone on this site, have any fucking clue how casting works? Do you literally think you just pick the actor you want? It’s one of the most arduous tasks in filmmaking. For all you know the script sucks and nobody even wanted to be in it. Or it’s a great script and Zoe gave the best audition. Or she was the…
The other thing is that nobody seems to understand that actors look for parts playing people that are unlike themselves because that’s the real challenge of acting. And if they can pull it off competently it’s amazing and brings them prestige. That’s why actors get more respect for playing people they don’t resemble.
And it’s a valid criticism. But assuming that an actress with darker skin would necessarily carry sympathies closer to those of the real person is in and of itself a rather shallow thought. Sure, they could have found a better actress or they might have definitely could have found a better make up artist, but it’s not…
This isn’t exactly Bert Williams here. This is not somebody playing up stereotypes at the expense of an entire race for the amusement of white people. Don’t even try to trivialize the disgusting vileness of blackface by suggesting a woman of color using makeup the way plenty of actors from all parts of the world use…
What’s next, we’re going to find out those are costumes and not really their own clothes? Oh, horror.
In the creative field, abso fucking lutely! If a Neo Nazi wanted to portray a Jewish victim of the Holocaust I would hope to hell Jews would boycott that shit.
I feel like i spend about half the time being told I need to participate in the conversation, and about half the time being told “shut up and listen//you’re whitesplaining every time you talk//check your privilege//you can’t talk about this because you’ve never experienced//etc//etc//etc”
Um....I had roommate situations where we didn’t split the rent evenly. it’s just a matter of what you negotiate. Also if his name is on the lease only, he’s talking all the risk if you decide not to pay, he’s still on the hook. Why are you so upset over something you agreed to ?
I’d be afraid of peak bloated Trent Reznor, too. (Damn, I loved Earthling and Outside.)
Please... please... please... please...
Confessing isn’t what fucks up the relationship. The cheating did that.
Totally agree. Having been cheated on I would like to say that it is never okay to keep it from your partner. Doing so means that your partner would be having sex with you without knowing the full story. It isn’t just shitty, it is also not really consensual sex. If i had known that my partner cheated on me I would…
To come to the conclusion that you did, you have to have inherently valued your own immediate desire for happiness over your husband’s autonomy and his desires for honesty and trust.
I mean, if he loves me, he should be willing to hear me out and give me a chance.
Ugh. After reading this I have about 5 reasons that I’m really grateful you aren’t my wife.
The article you linked is how the ACLU *believes* things should be, not how things actually *are*.
...am no sure if you should discipline individuals for getting in a verbal fight and saying horrible stuff...
If only you had said that originally, you wouldn’t look like you were moving the goalposts of the argument.
