there are already treatments that can get a person with HIV down to a reading of 0 viral load and at that point you actually can have unprotected sex. Its not recommended for obvious reasons but HIV is in control enough that this is a thing that can already be done.

This is fantastic, of true. But honestly for me, the results don’t mean much to me unless one of the researchers is willing to have unprotected sex with the cured man. Put your money where your mouth is. 

This is one of those things that I’m pretty certain more research and time is needed. I recall back in the late 90's some of the early work that came out on AIDS and HIV research did a similar claim at some point, but it always came back but worse that previous episodes. I’m hoping that they find a cure to this…
