This can happen with the vaccine, as well.  Immunity is different for each person, whether it be gained naturally or through a vaccine.

Plus, a recovered covid patient has no idea of their immunity and antibodies are lasting or waning. Some people’s may last six or eight months, but others will be much shorter.
