I would tend to agree. But, traditionally trucks were based on payload capacity, hence quarter, half and full ton being 150, 250 and 350 in Ford and 1500, 2500 and 3500 in Ram/Chevy. While the Small and Mid-Size didn’t meet those numbers.

I like a nice set of CV carbs for the street, but FI is clearly superior, just more complex. You can run a carb bike with no petcock if you have to, and there’s no fuel pump. I had to reattach an in tank fuel pump hose on the side of the road on my exes Ducati. It was NBD, but they aren’t 100% trouble free.

I turned a wrench for a living during the carb era, and generally they were pretty trouble free if you left them alone. They absolutely did not like to sit, I’ll grant you that.
