I grew up in a town about 30 miles east of Daytona Beach, and my My high-school/college years were around 86-94. Saw so many great things and weird shit on that beach. Benny Hill, Dr. Dre & Ed Lover, trashed hotel rooms, clothing held on with nothing but velcro. Gotta dig up my picture with Salt N Peppa.

Holy shit that water looks cold.

Really hoping they win the West again.

He's going full Ed Grimley with that jump.

Fear not: Ranger, Barbarian, Magician, Thief, Cavalier, and Acrobat.

Dressed as Cameo (with codpiece), singing "Word Up."

The horde await the call of Lord Cthulhu.

Great point. The only game that I can think of that really embraces the concept of a positive black character is "The Sims." I think that has everything to do with the culture of the studio that makes it (disclaimer, I used to work there).

Tom Cruise! Probably the world's most famous Armenian.

I wish the 49 helmet was a little more interesting. Not much you can do with those two numbers though. Maybe Roman Numerals?

It's Tom Riddle!

I was an intern at Paper Magazine for a few months in 1995. It was my job to track down the URLs of the advertisers so we could publish them on a special page in the back of the book. It was all Netscape on Mac classics back then. I'd been on BBS's before, but this was really "The Internet" to me.

On the one hand, I see a lot of these provocative cartoons as kind of like poking a pit-bull with a sharp stick.

A story of madness in typography that does NOT include Eric Gill?

I was just extolling the virtues of coconut milk ice-cream bars a couple posts up. Holy moly those are the bees knees.

Whole foods has these pretty sweet coconut milk ice cream bars (covered in chocolate). If you leave them out for like 6 or 7 minutes and they soften up ... pretty much everything you need.

But why is his forehead ... different?

Good recap. I always wondered if they were related to the Trill.

Yeah. I do. I was raised Catholic, was an altar boy and everything, and then just kind of drifted away in college. I really liked it when I went to Europe though, because I knew all the stories about the people in the stained-glass windows and the statues all over Vatican City.

Just shines a light on a selfish, undisciplined locker room. You didn't see the Niners act like that after their loss to the Ravens in the big game.
