Goddammit. I never would have believed this. Cobain yes, the Layne Staley and Scott Weiland ODs yes, but there was something so joyful and alive to me in Soundgarden’s music despite the dark lyrics. There is a swagger there, a “listen to this motherfuckers” vibe that I thought could only come from a gunslinger intent

It’s a much more upbeat as a song than as a lyric sheet. Dark, man

Close your eyes and bow your head
I need a little sympathy
‘Cause fear is strong and love’s for everyone
Who isn’t me
So kill your health and kill yourself
And kill everything you love
And if you live you can fall to pieces
And suffer with my ghost

“Movingforward, I have a newfound compassion and sensitivity for what women go through on a daily basis and am committed to fighting against unfair power dynamics and fighting for equality for everyone—both in my own actions and whenever I see it.”

Seems like reboots require a nostalgic middle age audience to latch on to, and don’t know where one exists for Arthurian legend. Excalibur maybe? I know that film had it’s flaws but 11 year old me loved it. That didn’t translate into any interest in whatever this was.

Willikers was the judge’s married name. She went back to plain old Golly Gee after the divorce

I agree with your sentiment wholeheartedly

*may have opposite of desired effect on male humans

In other words, verbs aren’t nouns

That’s all fine, as long as it’s Merican First.

Then you may like it. He plays a pompous asshole country clubber pretty convincingly

I’m picturing him thinking of directing an All the Right Moves remake with himself as Craig T Nelson (but a kinder, sexier version) as he says that. There’s some gritty blue collar white boy makes good despite being really short nostalgia for ya.

Have you watched Red Oaks on Amazon prime? There’s not enough Richard Kind in it but what’s there is great. Bonus Jennifer Grey, Paul Reiser and Gina Gershon! Stick w it, s2 is better developed than s1

I’m pretty sure he was doing sarcasm

He’s the darkest timeline’s Being There. Peter Sellers was more believable in the original.

I have a strong stomach so actually read the NY Post article. The point, if there was one, seemed to be that shallow people are shallow. The lens used by the men in this story was ever outward looking but that still seemed to be the only point. Shallow people are shallow. Some are hot chicks, some are intellectual

I like where you’re going with this. I think my title match would be Nirvana Nevermind vs Pearl Jam Black. Counting Crows and Alanis both in contention though. Also Pumpkin’s Siamese Dream and Soundgarden has its own showdown w BadMotorFinger vs Superunknown

It’s like losing all your money to the guy you pay to watch your money. Who would’ve thought? It figures

Our sweet Labrador and his sister the Beabull (beagle/bully) stack napping in the sun

It’s sarcasm. I recognize it.
