They realized it would take forever to produce 5 seasons, it was purely practical.

Or maybe the Total Perspective Vortex (unless your name is Zaphod Beeblebrox)

Star Wars has always had an undercurrent of grimness. A whole planet was obliterated in “A New Hope.” The whole of the prequel trilogy is literally about the Dark Side prevailing and ends with children literally being slaughtered.

You seem mistaken. Disney’s Star Wars is absolutely saturated with bubbly nostalgic nonsense. There’s no shortage. They “won”. Go watch any of that.

Literally everything besides this show is still Star Wars in fun mode. There’s room for different approaches.

It’s probably more accurate to describe it as:
“Not an elaborate toy commercial.”

I feel you, but the fact that it will end gives me hope that it’ll never be ruined like everything else.

I don’t think you’ll find that many people who disagree with that. That’s pretty much what everyone thinks of Moffet.

Maybe she’s superstitious now because she didn’t fight for it last time and look where that got her.

I still mourn the loss of that dude from that short lived sketch show.  Forgot his name.  Anthony something.  Now that was an impersonation.

Well, we already know Jack has been sent back in time and had to age back into the present day at least once, so there’s no way of telling how old he was chronologically when the Face of Boe first came on the scene. Could’ve pulled a Marvin and been sent back to the beginning of time repeatedly, so he was far older

My impression is that the world Brendan inhabited wasn’t Earth, but the same one the Doctor and crew arrived at in the far future. Alien planets have always had a striking resemblance to the UK for some reason... I guess it’s the same reason Korea always looked like Southern California in MASH. :)

Good on Jake for being open minded! I mean, it's not bag, but if my significant other looked like Melissa/Amy, nothing is off the table, really.

Maybe, but the concept of a coal powered nuclear plant was worth it.

Eleanor literally became that small voice in someone’s head, at least for a moment.

It was a happy ending. It was just a little sad because endings are always a little sad. But it certainly was earned.

Wow, Ellestra - I enjoyed reading this comment even more than I enjoyed reading the official Dennis Perkins review.  This was just what I needed.  Thank you for sharing that.

They’re already dead and have been dead. Viewing it as suicide is extremely simplistic.

It feels less like suicide and more like, just moving on to another state of being. They become a part of the force of goodness in the universe. (Tahani arguably does as well in a different way.)

MARY STEENBURGEN!
