Yes. His response to getting caught was typical of an asshole. He acted as though the rules,which he was well aware of, didn’t need to be applied to him. That makes him an asshole.

His response to his being arrested to blame everyone else but himself. It irritated the shit out of me. The laws were too harsh, he was speeding but it was not unsafe, he was singled out because he is an auto journalist. He knew the rules, broke the rules, got caught and then blamed the rules. He's an entitled asshole.

He was on a two lane road doing something like 90. He's an asshole. And it's exactly the same thing these guys were doing - driving well above the speed limit on public roads. 

I’m not enraged. The money he was given was contractually his. I don’t disapprove of his compensation as the money he was paid was not mine. There is clearly enough money floating around for me (and you) to earn my piece of the pie. I don’t begrudge him (or you) getting yours.

I had forgotten that nowadays success is viewed as the ultimate failure. 

I live in a right to work state and don’t need cause to be fired. I signed a contract stating the same. This guy signed a better contract than I did and the result is he gets a huge payday. I don’t make decisions for a multinational $200 billion corporation, however.

In 2015 the valuation was somewhere in the $96 billion range. In 2017 it was up 82%. 

My reading comprehension is for shit, apparently. With that said, I have no idea why he got what he got. I suspect it had to do with having a great contract lawyer.

Boeing is valued at $220 billion. There’s a scale to these things. He’s not running a crew at the Jiffy Lube, he headed a company for 30 years and made a lot of people a lot of money in the process.
