Im not sure they are any more durable than any other 70's design.

It's a good boy.

I taught my son to drive stick in the one I had. He was 8 years old at the time.

I have had three 240's and 7 Volvo’s in total. I wouldn’t buy another 240 and in fact, I traded the last one I had for a rusty Nissan 720 pickup which, while in horrible condition, was at least interesting to drive.

Sometimes larger vehicles are more practical. I’m 6'4 and I occasionally need to throw a bunch of stuff in the back of my car for work and fun. For these reasons I drive a station wagon. A Mini Cooper would be too small for what I need out of a car.

I drink it. The point for me is that when I wake up I’m not three states away with a new tattoo and some explaining to do.

Hey! I grew up with that guy!  The car was the same one the director’s parents drove while we were in high school.  His dad also had a 1967 Cougar, if I recall correctly.

oh dear heavens

It sure looks like the defender kicked the ball out of bounds and that Messi didn’t even get a touch.

The front end kinda looks like a garage door topped by gunslits.

Nope. All of those things you referenced have one thing in common which is the object of the game isn’t to punch your opponent in the head until they lose consciousness.

Thanks for concentrating on the one aspect of the response that has zero impact on the veracity of the statement. Your flair for the pedantic is inspiring.

The preponderance of small output turbocharged engines is the culprit. I can drive my V60 with a 2 liter 4 cylinder at full tilt all the time and manage about 14 mpgs in the city. Or, I can drive it like a normal human being and get 26 mpgs. I can drive my 1983 Caprice Classic Wagon with a 5 liter V8 and get about

Promise?

A missed opportunity to show people just how fun and capable the P80 platform was.

They didn’t sell any P80 R’s with a manual in the US. You can get a transmission (m58) from a euro or Canadian car and swap it in and retain AWD, otherwise you have to settle for FWD (m56 trans).

I had a 1998 T5M with a 2000 R motor (2.3L) and a tune. Suspension work, full R interior, R front bumper 850R clutch (from the areas where you could get a manual) and a tailgate from an R wagon. It was extremely fun.

Except for the fact that the V70R was not sold in this country with a manual, I would agree. You can certainly swap one in if you want, or look for the more rare T5 Manual which will be just as fast without the not-too-sturdy, heavy AWD system.  The 850R was not sold with a manual in the US either.

You idiot.
