The foster mother is my biggest problem with Bill so far. Bill is otherwise pretty well-realized and real seeming, but then there's this random woman with no comprehensible relationship to her hanging around, like a living reminder of Moffat's lack of emotional intelligence. The fact that her date didn't even comment

That's what she…no, you know what, Dong is a common name; I'm not doing this.

The problem was that the writers framed it as a conflict between Alex "following orders" and doing what she thought was right. The phrase "following orders" was used multiple times. The fact that those orders were from an illegitimate president, and no one brought that up, makes that particular conflict seem weak.

It isn't well defined, but "born on another planet" certainly doesn't qualify.

The Constitution says the president must be a natural born citizen of the United States; whether it has off-planet aliens in mind is irrelevant, since Marsden obviously isn't a natural born citizen.

My problem with the whole "following orders" thing was…Marsden is literally an illegitimate president. Alex doesn't have to do shit. I'm not even comfortable with the crew immediately agreeing to keep her secret, because she does not meet the qualifications for president as stated in the Consitution. Obviously she

Me, a straight man, when Cat first appeared on the plane:

Apparently in the Arrowverse all prisons just make their prisoners wear diapers for months on end.

Got damn, that was a good article.

I think at this point it's logical to assume that the team has gained a reputation from working for Olivia. Training under experts always lends a certain prestige.

I agree that Season 5 had potential. I especially liked the episode where Olivia laid out her case for why she fell for Fitz—something that's always been a mystery for me, because well, Fitz sucks.

My ideal season 3 finale was:

If you've watched since S3 you owe it to yourself to at least go back and watch S2.

As I said on the article about the show's seventh season being its last, I will bring up Huck's torture of Quinn (and Olivia's multiple abusive lovers) every time someone calls Shonda Rhimes a feminist writer.

Bonus points if the dude from Lost whose name I can't remember from Season 1 joins him. (I always hoped Olivia would end up with him.)

Technically, they could do the same with Scandal; have the show be about a different fixer. Set it in LA and have it be about helping the images of celebrities instead of politicians. These are retool ideas they should have done a long time ago. Anything would be better than watching Olivia slip further into

That really was the first indication that Season 3 was going to be a shit show. The season should have been about Olivia's affair with the president coming to light and dealing with the fallout; that's what the end of Season 2 promised. Instead we got a terrible spy drama, and the entire moral of the show seemed to

I have fond memories of the first two seasons, before every single character became irredeemably awful.

WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME??!'

I'm with you. The explanation didn't even make sense if you assume everything was a magic spell rather than alien technology.
