My mom grew up in a German neighborhood here in the states and she would stop by the local brewery on her way home from school to get some kind special beer from the old country for her parents. The kids would all bring their own containers & carry them home. Can you imagine that happening now?

I don’t remember it being like this 20-30 years ago. I went to a Catholic school so most of my friends came from really big families and I was always surrounded by kids.

I think the dude on the right was a kid actor in the 80's but I can’t quite place him. And I’m pretty sure dude on the left played the Russian janitor on Larry Sanders & was maybe a comic? . (I just watched that episode, my memory isn’t THAT good.

Holy shit I was not aware of this

She seems remarkably well adjusted for having such a shitty mom. She seems to have a really good support system around her.

Kevin Smith talked about the fact that there were seamstresses on call at Paisley Park at all times. I think Prince just designed everything himself and had them made.

It’s pretty common now for celebrities to specify how their image can be used after death. It seems incomprehensible to me that since Prince was adamant that music could not be used in commercials, that wouldn’t leave a will with extremely exacting instructions. Also he has a shit load of unreleased videos and music,

That's nice to hear. I've always enjoyed her work. I fucking loved V.I.P.

I’m an old and can remember Petty doing radio interviews when I was in high school in the 80's. He didn’t seem cantankerous, just a no nonsense guy. i remember a caller asking him if he named his band The Heartbreakers bc they were all so sexy and he said something like, “Oh for Christ’s sake,” and went on to the next

Same. I have a real visceral dislike him. His weird voice and smug face don’t help, but don't actually explain why he irritates me so much, And I have the opposite reaction to Sam Rockwell. I adore him completely, even though I’ve never seen him in an single interview and know nothing at all about him.

I was working on location in MO with some douchebags from L.A. who asked me where the nearest farm was because they wanted to pet some cows. I told them if they didn’t get shot by the ranchers for trespassing, they would probably be gored or trampled by bulls or hogs. They laughed at me like I was an idiot, I dont

A friend on mine worked on the HBO movie @ Truman, and the production hired some dialect coach who very condescendingly “corrected” the pronunciation of crew members who had lived their entire lives in Kansas City. They insisted that not only did everyone in KC pronounce it “Missour-ah” but that there was a distinct

I had to teach my male friend basic life skills bc his mom did absolutely everything for him. To his credit, he realized in his mid 20's that it was weird that he didn’t know how to do ANYthing, & asked me for help. I even had to teach him to shop for groceries and what each cleaning and laundry product was for.

My little sister’s high school friends had a similar dynamic and seemed to all kind of hate each other. They constantly made out with each other’s boyfriends, & were generally dicks.

When I worked at Whole Foods, customers would make horribly sexist & racist & classist comments that we were somehow expected to overlook and enjoy because they were clearly such liberal/enlightened/whatever beings. I remember some dude making a lame comment and I sighed, and he snapped, “Really, you’re not gonna

Of course you should have fun and enjoy yourselves! My brother is 11 years younger and the last of our family and his friends to have a baby and was worried everyone was “babied out.”

I majored in film studies and spent 6 years in the industry, and I have no fucking clue.

I have a friend in her late 40's who doesn’t have the basic computer, life, cooking, or housekeeping skills that I had when I was in middle school. She doesn’t even know how to use Word or sync the calendar on her computer. I think she’s been lucky so far because she’s very pretty and always seems to inspire someone

Same here. My religion teachers were fantastic, and my English teacher gave me a list of books about Buddism and mindfulness and told me it was pretty clear to her that I was going to be a Buddhist.

Hahahaha, that makes him Humungo Grant!!! (I'll show myself out)
