You’re bad at admitting you loved Academy Award Best Picture nominee Top Gun: Maverick
If it was “just a bad movie” you wouldn’t be so up in arms about it. You loved it, didn’t you? Admit it.
It would be the most psychotically committed portrayal of a rice farmer contemplating death you’ve ever seen, that’s for sure.
Look, I get what you’re saying, but after all the shit Drew Barrymore was put through as a child actress, I don’t blame her one bit for going in hard to protect the next generation.
Give people an inch and they’ll take a mile. Fans did her one solid favor & now they think they own her. Sorry to sound like a 2007 meme but leave this poor woman the hell alone you goddamn wierdos.
Damn you, Xenu!!!
Also please don’t use cutesy language like “unalived” to describe murder. He (allegedly) murdered her.
Jesus Christ, who cares, maybe he just didn’t want to talk about his ex, or maybe they really are friends. The internet is so goddamn weird.
I saw him sit in with BB King at a show at King’s Times Square blues bar, and with great annoyance I must concede that this dude has absolutely got it as a guitar player.
American Dad is better than all three of them (yes I include Bob’s Burgers in that).
Also, Jake Lloyd did a lot more than “quit acting” after the Episode I backlash. Multiple arrests, a schizophrenia diagnosis & stints in a psychiatric hospital.
“We have never intended to bury anyone’s career,” Wilson concludes. “It is why our Redeemer Award was created. We all make mistakes, very much us included. Since our motto is ‘Own Your Bad,’ we realize that we ourselves must also live up to it.”
Mentally prepare. Say those goodbyes, eat that last slice of cake, finally watch Twin Peaks.
I bet “the public” doesn’t even listen to Bob fucking Dylan, man!
I liked Nope a lot better on the second viewing (the opening scene is particularly haunting when you know what’s going on) but it was still a half step below Us and Get Out. Which is fine. Peele is a major talent, not every movie is going to be his masterpiece.
It absolutely should have gotten one for Costume Design
I absolutely loved that movie & thought Olivia Wilde directed the hell out of it, but I wasn’t naïve enough to think it was going to get any Academy love.
Get it from your local library. That’s what I did.
So in other words it deserved its writing nom but wasn't a stop 5 best directed movie for 2022?
Counterpoint: Top Gun kicked ass, and if there’s one thing you CAN’T fault the Academy for, it’s nominating lots of big mainstream films.
