Indeed.
I think part of the reason that it’s been such a quiet issue for so long in the LGBT+ community is because of fear that it will play into the “deviant sexual predators” narrative that the Right has used in the past to justify their abuse of members of the community.
“She never said no”
That shit told me all I need to know about how evil this woman is. Words of a predator. Reading these words from a woman filled me with such disgust.

I had a good LOL at “Tours of Possible Suicide Locations.” My runs are often “Run-Throughs of Me Getting Revenge on Someone I Hate” so I can relate. Hope you’re taking care of yourself, beyond the turmeric enemas!
When people say “We survived Reagan, you’ll survive Trump” I like to remind them of the Reagan-led genocide of (primarily) gay men. So no...fuck you. We did not all survive Reagan. My generation (and some of the Boomers) lost the best and brightest of us all and we’ve never recovered from that loss.
Fuck this woman. Fuck fuck fuck this woman.

I agree. I don’t want want to work hard to GET it. It’s entertainment, I get it’s also someones art but not everyone’s art is for me. So this just isn’t for me. I listen to music for entertainment same reason I read books or watch movies. I don’t want it to be a job.

I lovedlovedloved her and still listen to all her old albums, but since Vespertine I’ve kind of drifted away. There have been some songs that touched me. Just thinking about Selmasongs makes me well up. But the last albums have been too experimental for me. Too hard to listen to, it’s so earnestly meant to be serious…
Seems a direct jab at her ex Matthew Barney’s oeuvre, no?

I believe the accusations and I am not defending Franken, but there are other options besides 1 and 2. Moore’s first four accusers didn’t know each other or the stories and each came forward completely independently of each other. Faking that would require a conspiracy such as #2. But Franken’s accusers have all come…
Yeah, exactly. The difference in my communities is that it’s less of a racial divide, and more of a class one - rent etc is cheap so you have young graduates, queers, hipsters etc move into an area, start art collectives, begin small businesses like cafes and bars, and then people start travelling to the area because…
I suppose - I guess where I live, the difference is that the artists are usually just as disgusted at high rise development and overpopulation in the area, and want to preserve the community and the quirky things they liked when they moved in.
