I think there’s also the fact that it was a foreign national performing the investigation. Yes, it was through a layer or two of subcontracts, so I’m sure it’s legal, but it’s shady enough for Trump supporters and the GOP to claim “hypocrite!” and the accusation is... maybe 10% true?

Yes - and they flatly denied being involved in the dossier’s very existence, which is also not a good look.

Having said that - a lot of what was posited in that dossier has turned out to be true...

I’m an immigration attorney and I’ve worked with lots of unaccompanied immigrant kids at shelters. Their circumstances (coming to the US alone) tend to correlate with very very limited education. I am 99% sure she didn’t write this, although I’m sure it reflects her thoughts.
