I agree with your first point. Your second feeds directly into the dynamics of privilege France himself acknowledges are in play. Trans women of color are systematically denied access to jobs, education and opportunities. This isn’t a point of debate, it’s supported by statistical research. If we make formal education…
She also gave the best speech about music piracy ever.
Yes, you are correct. Gadot’s IDF service was mandatory.
The critiques of Gadot have little to do with anything Gadot actually did or didn’t do. They are more about the fact that she’s an Israeli who doesn’t believe that Israel is an illegal country that should somehow pack up and disappear. There’s a lot of history.
I tend to feel that the criticism of Gadot over IDF-related statements is a bit unfair. If a U.S. veteran went to Hollywood and made some supportive statements about the U.S. military in a time contemporaneous with drone strikes, I kind of doubt they’d be accused of supporting mass murder.
A recent tweet pointed out that a vanilla soy latte was a three-bean soup. Mind: blown.
In other words, you’re anti-Semitic. But you think it’s okay to be anti-Semitic because you feel like your anti-Semtism is progressive and anti-oppression. I’m sure you have Jewish friends, too.
Read up on it more. The marchers who were evicted brought rainbow flags with the Star of David on it. That’s it.
And, in Chicago, the lesbians refuse to march with Jews.
This one needs to be higher up. Not scary, but the dedication to the job—the damn ghost finished the job!!!—is astounding.
It’s also somewhat noteable that the projects appear different enough that I have trouble seeing what research Gossett would have that would have been of use to France. Also, France has an actual journalistic background while Gossett has the self-apointed-sounding title of “researcher.”
Thank you for this great piece of reporting and for reaching out past France and Gossett. I would request that if you hear back from Gossett, Wortzel, and/or Mock, that you make that super clear in the header and up-front, as I would love to read this again with their added comments and perspective should they decide…
This story just makes me happy. I know several facilities guys, gruff but lovable Ron Swanson types, who would also feel the need to finish their last job before they could move on to the next world.
Somebody might be a mansplainer...
I had a man laugh at my correct pronunciation of a German word (he used the English/incorrect pronunciation). He was absolutely sure his pronunciation of a GERMAN word in English was correct. I told him I spoke some German and knew the diction and no, he was wrong. He was actually laughing at the correct…
It’s kind of like.... all of society or something!
Hey TheKinjaPlace, come tell this guy that his friend should’ve done better.
People die in 0' deep avalanches when they fall into tree wells. It only takes a couple minutes. If your limbs are totally immobilized there’s nothing you can do. Your breath will melt the snow around your face and then it’ll freeze into a little ice tomb that builds up CO2.
Without a beacon, finding someone by…
Really? Seems like horrible accident-suicide to me.
