Surely if the mother dies from complications in pregnancy or labor, it’s at least manslaughter...

Ah, so she’s accusing him of trying to turn it into a financial opportunity to drum up publicity for the financial opportunity she’s trying to turn it into.

It’s wild seeing the same accounts posting dozens of shitty comments in every article and just keeping at it for months. One quick block could take care of that! Not to mention that the flagging system seems to just be a sugar pill for commenters. I’ve flagged completely beyond-the-pale harassment and threats comments

I didn’t think Republicans even considered rape a crime!

That was just the character, you see...

Nobody “needs” a vintage quilted skirt to survive, regardless of income level. If you want to frame it as “people are taking things that the poor need to survive”, then you don’t have an argument because these items ain’t it. If the argument is “Someone thought they should have found cooler stuff when they went to the

It’s whether or not a small number can basically derail the true administration of justice

I hear the census bureau is updating their forms to have the race categories just be “[ ] White [ ] Low income" too.

It seems very like “Poor people neeeed those clothes!” but also “Poor people are supposed to stay poor, I don’t want them reselling those clothes for a meager profit!”

Who’s relying on a fur coat and vintage quilted skirt for survival?

A lot of the good resellers are also creating demand for items that wouldn’t necessarily sell from the thrift store directly. There are individual items that would be very slow to sell off of a rack, but if someone can showcase them as part of an outfit, they’ll move.

“I’m Spanish. I’m gonna go full Latino mode.”

This just in: Republicans oppose trans healthcare to ensure affordable supply of hormone-free child meat.

People complaining about how “there’s less in thrift stores now!” as if it’s this woman’s fault and not the fault of an industry making less durable clothes and a shit economy that’s pushed more people to buy second hand.

It’s also wild to see people talk about greedy, colonizing resellers because the vast, vast majority of resellers are not well off. It's like single moms finding something they can do from home, or new immigrants fixing up clothes to sell in their community.

A lot of thrift shops do have "boutique" sections now with higher priced specialty items. You'll be shocked to hear that the same people complain about that too.

Thrift stores don’t sell *to* poor people. They sell to raise money for other programs (which sometimes involve just giving clothes to the poor). Anyone buying the clothes is good because it funds the other stuff.

A lot of resellers aren’t “skinny and white”. At the store I worked at, most of our resellers were black, with a bunch of latin & Asian immigrants too. A lot of the people buying resale are also in those communities who just don't have time to thrift. And a lot of thrift stores have programs where clothes and store

The high end products probably aren't coming from thrift stores in a low income area.

I think a lot of the lack of stuff at thrift stores has more to do with fast fashion than resellers too. I used to work at a thrift store, and we’d get tons of 30-40 year old clothes from affordable brands that were still hanging on. Stuff from HM or Zara is probably not going to be wearable in 4 years, let alone 40.
