the unique circumstances that have made her feel powerless

Such efforts require a community commitment. We recently had a client whose husband needed a car to get to work. A donor sold her car at a steep discount, another donor purchased it for the client, and a third paid for six months of car insurance.

The argument that feminists should welcome pro-life women into the fold is so frustrating and completely misses the point of feminism. If you don’t think women should have control of their own bodies, you cannot be a feminist. If you don’t like abortion but think other women should have the right and access to make

I love the idea that citing the legitimately positive economic impacts on women of freely available birth control “commodifies” and cheapens women, but forcing them to be incubators for human life is just fine.

I’m sick of the ‘First Amendment’ justification. Yes, it protects political speech, but that doesn’t mean things like this need to be given such a platform.

my branding suggestion: I thought you said you wanted the government out of healthcare. Decisions should be made between a patient and their doctor, what kind of legal precedent would it set if we allowed disconnected elite politicians to dictate our medical choices?

There is a distinct difference between being open to other opinions and letting people publish terrible, incorrect information. The NY Times seems to be struggling with this lately. There are two or more sides to many arguments. That doesn’t mean they are all correct, or factually supported, or deserving of attention.

I was reading her list of all the things they provide for pregnant women and I was like “That’s all well and good but none of it would have changed my mind.” I had an abortion because I was not ready to be a mother and giving me child-care options would not have changed that.

‘Szala describes that economic argument as “dehumanizing....”’

When are they going to publish something about a group that’s against abortion and acts on that by giving out free birth control, setting up funds for women who are pregnant and need money to raise their baby, and pouring money into research on birth control options for men?

I cannot with these people and their sympathizers any longer. When you place laws limiting the medical decisions that I can make, medical decisions that have a long and lasting effect on every area of my life you limit my freedom and I am no longer an equal citizen in the eyes of the law. FULL STOP.

Sorry for the bad mani, going to work on getting better nails. (Library copy going back today!)

Remember when we all though Ivanka was the “good” Trump who was going to save us from her father’s endless grifting?

It is a very prevalent and seductive superstitious mythology that exists in many different forms.

omg The Secret the worst of the worst ... makes me think of the reality show where the mom taught that to her kids as their Homeschooling

Little do you know of the bitter feud between the Daleys and Lance-Blacks.

Sorry. That’s not at ALL what the Bible says. It explicitly says that if you let Jesus into your heart, you will open your wallet to him in the form of your friendly snake-oil salesman pastor. After appropriately funding your pastor’s helicopter and five mansions, then Jesus will reward you by making you rich. But

Religion is just fucked. You want to be a good person you know what to do, you don’t need a book or a benevolent deity to espouse being a decent human. The amount of horrible shit that’s happened cause people are afraid that when they die their just fucking dead and not in fairy wonderland is insane.
