i’ve said it in other articles about the same topic, that traffic inherently can’t be reduced by much because our main infrastructure problem on highways is merging lanes. merging lanes are a very simple space problem. it’s the fact that during high traffic, one lane needs double the space of what it has.

But it’s also important to consider the coverage offered. The plan referenced was a car version of 'major medical' coverage.  Nice if everything goes sideways at the same time, but not realistic.

ev with extender is different than a hybrid.  a hybrid is defined that either propulsion system can directly drive the wheels.  an ev extender only adds a charge to the batteries, but is not directly connected to the wheels.
