seriously, the ublock origin chrome extension has done miracles.   it took me about 2 hours of tinkering to set up, but now the site loads like it did 4 years ago. and no auto play video’s.

lol, i’m in the midwest.  it’s about 50/50 around me for people that use their garages for cars and people that use it for stuffs.

if it lands in my yard, i’m using the solar panels.

too bad they don’t make them anymore. if they had a manual version, it’d be perfect.

he’d have to sell the regal x and mortgage the house to afford it!

In my area, commercial electrical accounts get charged service fees just for allowing the connection. He had said whatever the service fee was, it was higher than the full output of his solar and wind output combined, meaning he would lose money even at peak output, but lose even more on lower output days.

I'm hopeful that mazda is working on an ev with a rotary range extender

I have considered trailers in the past, but I’ve already got a 2 vehicle minimum requirement(rarely are two vehicles broken down at the same time), so i just make sure one of the two is a pickup and then i don't need to deal with trailer registration/taxes and storage.

How do you do long trips? Rental?

i met a guy out in the middle of nowhere a while back that tried doing exactly that. he had solar panels, as well as his own wind turbine. problem is, the local power company gave him 2 options.

i’m not saying ‘hard pass to anything electric’, i’m saying i’m opposed to entirely dropping one propulsion system, picking up another, and in the process adding much more strain to an already strained system.

if you’ve ever met half the owners of gas stations, you would know it’d be damn near impossible.

you must not live in an area that they keep randomly lowering the speed limits.

how many assault rifle owners routinely shoot groups of preschoolers?  i think you’ve got turned around clicking through deadspin.

the reality though is where would that extra income come from?   my pay check?

i’ve got no problem with an electric AND gas future. i think there are strong merits for all propulsion systems. what i don’t like is being entirely dependent on one propulsion system like we are now( i full yadmit something needed to be done about this a very long time ago), but then once another propulsion system

I’m not opposed to ev ownership, I’m still watching for one for commuting, but waiting for ones to fall to the ‘disposable income’ $2-3k cost. In the mean time, i use my pickup truck. And i NEED the truck. Saturday saw 2 separate 1200 pound loads. First was to the scrap yard, second was from my sisters bath remodel.

I don't like any plan to completely eradicate any particular power source.  They all have their place, and diversity in power generation is always a good thing.

That’s nice conceptually, but the reality is washington as a whole has reduced income to a budget line item. Make that number bigger, and other things start crying for money. It’s been a cycle that is what got us into such a large national debt. To reduce that would require a much deeper ethical change with the whole

This is one of my issues with a dedicated electric future.  It's nice in concept at least
