Best automatic for people who like manuals- I’m ready to be reviled for this but the answer is the the SMGII from the e46 m3. Why? its analog as fuck. It has a learning curve, analog responsive control over shifts using throttle, it defaults to manual mode no matter what and never intervenes with its ideas.

How is it that car makers manage to not make the one exact configuration that would be most compelling?
