A couple of my friends have actually put together a promotion/relegation style simulator of college football teams covering the last few years, using predictions from What If? Sports. It’s pretty interesting, give it a gander if you wish! (http://ryanhenning.com/?p=9664) (contains links within to the start of the

no excuses? the ridiculously lucky part was referencing the CF catching the ball after falling down, not the wind blowing in part. If it was more neutral, we wouldn’t have to worry about the no-hitter in the 9th b/c a homer would have already been hit! haha

And that perfect game by Koufax was the 2nd time the Cubs had been no-hit in 20 games. Get no-hit twice in a month... then go half a century before getting no-hit again. Baseball certainly is a weird game.

It’s been fun following the @CubsNoHitStreak handle over the last few years. Today... not so much :( Go figure it had to end on a ridiculously lucky catch at the end too. If the wind wasn’t blowing in at 14-17mph... that ball ends in the stands.

Rodney’s best seasons ended earlier than that

I tried with all my might not to LOL at my desk. I eeked out a victory in that regard. I’m just lucky I wasn’t drinking anything when I read that

As a lifelong Bears fan, I’ll be drinking anyways b/c I’m watching those damned Packers win yet another damn division title. My only solace last few seasons since their SB win (and I hate the Steelers too, I wasn’t gonna win that Super Bowl no matter who came out on top) was how they’ve flamed out in the playoffs in

In the ‘roided up HR Derbys of the early 2000s, I would have definitely taken that into consideration (ah the glory days of multiple 500+ft Derby balls). But these days....

TO BE FAIR, toothpaste guy was just squirting it right onto his teeth then using his tongue, not his finger to spread it around as you suggested. But either way, yes, he should be murdered.

Exactly, which is why I brought up the difference for that 1st hour would be something they’d clearly want to avoid. Guess we’ll see how this all pans out

Some friends and I had a drinking game every time he incorrectly used a geographical reference when they had the ASG/HR Derby here in Minneapolis last year. We had to stop halfway through b/c we realized we’d be dead. “He smacked that all the way to Chanhassen!” So... you’re saying thats an out? Because that’s 27

Probably because having to shift TV schedules and such to do so would be tough, esp since the 1st hour wouldn’t be in prime time anymore causing differences in ad revenue rates. Plus there’s the whole trying to get everybody to the park an hour earlier in the midst of rush hour traffic...

One of my friends wrote a book a couple years ago, and was attempting to get it published. He went the crowdfunding direction to scrounge up enough to put in an order to a publisher (it was under $2K, so it wasn’t some ridiculous get rich quick scheme) and was successful in doing so. I supported him by purchasing a

that caused me to chuckle at my desk here at work as well. One of my coworkers looked over at me quizzically, to which I responded “the interwebz made me laugh”.

I’ve debated with people that Kerry Wood’s 20K game was most likely one of the best pitched games of all-time (game score of 105, the current 9-inning record), and some say any perfect game is better because Wood allowed 2 baserunners (1 questionable hit/error and 1 HBP). A perfect game is indeed pretty excellent, but

Crawford had an amazing night in goal tonight. He stopped a bunch of Grade A chances by the Lightning (i’m still hyperventilating over those final 2 minutes) and was only beaten by a brilliant play by Filppula and Killorn (I wanted to be angry at that goal, but I couldn’t. It was just THAT good of an offensive play).

5th grade, just moved to NC a couple months beforehand and already got slapped with the nerdy boy label b/c I was smarter than the rest of the class (that wasn’t difficult). 1st round of class spelling bee, i got the word BRAIN. So of course... i spelled it B-R-I-A-N. What an ironic word to punk me out and receive

I’d say the 2nd round was kinda boring, the 1st round was exceptionally entertaining! 6 of the 8 series went 6/7 games and even in Anaheim’s sweep, all 4 games were within 1 goal with 8min left in the 3rd period. Meanwhile in the NBA’s 1st round, 5 of the 8 series had 3-0 series leads and 3 ended in sweeps. Zzzzz.....

I moved here in 2008 from Plymouth, haven’t been pulled over yet. That sucks though :(
