Most readers are Americans, the sons and daughters of the deadliest nation in the history of the human species, the one that enslaved more people than the Roman empire at its height; the one that has done the more damage to the planet in the past 150 years than the rest of humanity has ever done combined.
Just FYI, modest dress for men is also a tenant of Islam, it’s just the ways that different cultures interpret those tenants, and primarily how avidly they’re enforced, that are inconsistent.
It’s so, so gross. Like how many photos can you take that are like LOOK AT MY ENGAGEMENT HAND without realizing how trash that is? And it’s not like she’s got Cartier on that unpolished mitt of hers, so maybe relax.
I mean, I think it’s incredibly stupid to pay $600 for an iPhone, but I still don’t think it would be okay for Apple to take orders and then not fulfill them.
Yes, because the economy and circumstances in 2017 are *TOTALLY* the same as they were the year your dad finished college. Totally. What an apt comparison.

Yeah, this boring-but-smug bullshit about waiting around for some guy and imagining the thoughts of the girls who laughed at you in middle school or whatever gets to be on the same website that has posts celebrating genius mathematicians who just died? Jezebel, please choose more wisely. This is stupidity.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
THANK YOU
Boost! The first woman to win the “Nobel Prize for Maths” deserves our recognition. Prof Mirzakhani was brilliant and so young; hopefully Jez honors her memory with an article. BBC link in the meantime:
OT, but would you guys mind covering Maryam Mirzakhani’s death? She was the first woman to win the Fields Medal (which Jez covered 3 years ago), basically the highest honor in math, and died at 40 of cancer today.
I have a ton of men’s t-shirts simply because I like having GODDAMN SLEEVES.
Yeah, I wasn’t being gender fluid when I bought those men’s khakis from the Gap that time. I was just having a big butt and being cheap because they were on sale.
It’s clearly a dangerous practice. Many women get raped during it and last year a girl died of suffocation. Not wanting this to happen is hardly “imposing your beliefs.”
“
This is hurting the women, though.
