In my ideal world, she and Amy Poehler tie.

Yeah — this is the only reason I have any sympathy for her at all. She’s getting terrible legal advice and now has Cruz and Huckabee whispering in her ear. No wonder she’s making such terrible decisions.

Just when I thought we were going to go an entire 24 hours without hearing from this woman....

In the spring of 1992, Ross Perot was at 40% in the polls. He ended up with 19% of the vote, still considerable for a third-party candidate, but certainly nowhere near enough to win. And Trump seems to be peaking several months earlier in the election cycle than Perot did.

My dream is that some Buddhist clerk somewhere will refuse to issue driver’s licenses.

Regarding #2 — JFK did call Coretta Scott King when MLK was in jail in Birmingham and (I think) helped get him bail.

I think they should let the person who does the @nexttokimdavis Twitter account write the status reports.

I actually think this is a really smart move on the part of the judge. All she has to do to stay out of jail is nothing. It’s going to be hard to look like a martyr if she continues to be an obstacle even after her name is off the licenses.

I am confident that the Queen hates Mr. Bates as much as I do.

I am struggling to think of something I would enjoy more than watching Downton Abbey while trading barbed commentary with the Queen.

i grew up in small-town Arkansas, and there pretty much everyone is a registered Democrat even though they mostly vote Republican in state and national races. If you want to be elected to something local you pretty much have to be a Democrat; the Democratic primary IS the election for all intents and purposes. I’m

Because she is elected. She can’t be fired, only impeached, and that takes a while.

That's the dream!

If all else fails, you can at least enjoy the clothes. The clothes are the main reason I watch. That, and my undying hope that Mr. Bates will at some point be hanged.

Ugh. Can I root for no one to win?

My go-to TV episode when I'm having a bad day is HIMYM's "Slap Bet" — the Robin Sparkles video will never not make me laugh. Back when I was taking actuarial exams I used to watch it right before I left for the test. (Don't think this means that you're off the hook for your crappy finale, though, HIMYM. I am still

Yeah, I wonder if it’s as much about screen time as attention span. Also, kids have more scheduled activities than they used to, so half an hour might just fit better into the day.

The soundtrack is SO good. And I love the opening titles, too.

As I said in one of yesterday's DFW threads, I much prefer Brief Interviews with Hideous Men to Infinite Jest.
