No doubt your experience is valid, but how old are you? Kamala’s in her 50's (as am I) and I can tell you from bitter experience that the feet become much less resilient as age and gravity take their toll.   My arches aren’t especially high, and my feet would be decimated by a three-mile Chuck stroll.

I knew who wrote this piece by the headline alone - her disdain for celebrities is well-publicized on this site, and yet she is the one who writes the most about them.  Apparently Jez is now a celebrity-hate site.  SUPER COOL! 

It’s Joan’s take - she HATES celebs and yet writes about them.  I can’t compute why she’s on this beat.  It’s beyond tiresome. 

The real story here is how Alyse Whitney was able to find what sounds like a great job in this shit economy. Given how terrible times are for journalists, this is great news.

Joan’s efforts to reach the subject would involve sending off a random emailto marieclaire@gmail.com she doesn’t expect to reach the subject, but then making sure to note her efforts to reach them as part of the story, because in journalism it’s the minimal effort that counts.

I like how Joan Summers of Jezebel is questioning a hard-working BIPOC journalist’s integrity. Your only “source” is her Instagram post? Why are there no quotes from Whitney in your piece? Did you even interview her? Give me a break. I thought we woke women were past tearing each other down.

I often read *checks notes* Marie Claire for journalistic insight. 

Yeah, it’s not like she made her Secretary of Education or Attorney General. We’ll see how the journo likes being a chore whore.

Are people reading Marie Claire for journalistic insight?  

So why did Marie Claire still publish the story, if it knew that its credibility could be compromised by a writer accepting an offer from her subject before the story went to print?
