I just want to say how extraordinary this oral history is and how much I enjoyed it, even as someone without all that much familiarity with the Chicago scene.

It's definitely a thing on my mother's side of the family, although most of them wound up moving to the Phoenix area from Minnesota rather than just visiting (…and one group moved back).

Tiny nitpick: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a first party title. (That’s not to take away from your fantastic post that I agree with 100%, of course!)

"Ebullient pop-rock band Los Campesinos! probably isn’t the first source you’d think of for a down-tempo, reflective, acoustic-driven ballad."

Target and Walmart have dipped their toes into the used game waters. Best Buy has a much larger selection, at least in my neck of the woods. Places like Amazon and eBay are still probably your best bets.

I'm a SC native too (half my life around Charleston; the other half around Greenville), I'm pretty sure I'll die if I don't get BBQ at least once a week, and the list of BBQ joints I've eaten at is a mile long. All sorts of places across the state have red sauces — tempted to say ketchup factors in more often than

The hope was to change locales with bigger bugs every season, carrying over as much of the cast as they could. Wall Street in season 2, Silicon Valley in season 3, Hollywood in season 4.

CBC Radio 3 is my go-to station, even all the way down here in South Carolina. I've always been kind of a Canadaphile, but there's just something about Radio 3 that digs its hooks into me, and so many of my "new" musical discoveries are completely owed to that.

I was obsessed with Mega Man 2 beyond all description. I remember being crushed as a kid when a friend of mine rented Mega Man 3 and I finished it in one sitting with minimal effort, thanks to that compulsive MM2 overplaying.

Good news! That Dog has a new song (“Mean What I Say”) on iTunes, and a new album is on the way. It looks like it’s already been recorded and is just a matter of getting it out there somehow.

I'm really digging it too.

For me, "classic Sloan" ends after Between the Bridges, which I think is an extremely solid record. It's a chore to listen to Pretty Together from start to finish ("Pick it Up and Dial It" is still the worst thing they've ever recorded). Never Hear the End of It drones on forever with fragments and barely-there

Without a doubt. I kind of have a hard time making it through the rest of the album since I just want to play Jay's songs again.

Hey, I take issue with that!

It's in the vinyl reissue they just put out too. (Along with a whole album's worth of outtakes/demos!)

Holiday 2013 to Holiday 2017 = four years, not three

I'm in the same boat (well, Internet connection aside, I guess). I fired up the demo, heard people talking, and just immediately "nope!"-ed out of there. I don't know why, but the idea of speaking to random people online holds absolutely zero appeal to me. (Since I'm writing this comment and all, obviously typing

For what it's worth, I really dug this song and will probably wind up buying the album as a result. It worked!

…and my personal favorite, that dog.

Yeah, I kept meaning to tune into season six, but there wasn't an app on a modern gaming console, and the idea of watching a show on my iPad or PC holds no real appeal to me…especially since I heard nothing but awful things about Yahoo Screen anyway.
