When a football player beats someone up, that's for the criminal justice system to handle. You know, police, DA's, etc.. The NFL needs no policy about it. It has nothing to do with the person's job of being a football player.

It sounds more like a negative comment on white southerners than on black people. In general he stereotyped both black people and white people in the letter, in ways that aren't completely accurate.

Is his detention that awful? If it were worded, "A high school student wanted to watch the US-Slovakia game in class, and when his teacher said no, he lost his temper and started calling him/her names" wouldn't that sound like grounds for detention?

How can I see the list of discussions to this post? This new layout (which even clocking to go to the old layout will not get be out of) is horrendous.

Why can't I get to the discussion pages? You change how the site navigates, and make it hard to reach the discussion. I wish sites would think "can a non-techie easily access everything he could before as easily?" before changing site nacigation and not change it if the answer is no.

By your own admission he probably did it, and for a non-criminal case that is good enough. Period.
