Hmmm, the worst abuse I ever inflicted upon a car was the hand-me-down 1988 Chevy Sprint I bought off my brother for a dollar.

Holy shit, my brother did this twice in his 1985 MR2. He had two cats in the car, a duffle bag strapped to the roof, no A/C and the smallest trailer he could rent from U-Haul. I’ve heard stories...

This is worthless as a plow in anything but the lightest snow. It’s also worthless as a vehicle on its own despite the 4WD. Throw in the hideous racism plastered all over it, and it’s CP all the way. You’d have to rip out the horn, ditch the plow and paint the whole thing even to have something worth considering.

This would be more useful, more reliable and would require no additional paint job. Still CP.

The types of people who slather the stars and bars all over their stuff are not the types of people renowned for their deep thinking abilities. I’m sure pointing out the dichotomy of plastering a racist symbol on a Japanese car to the owner would result in a blank stare for a few minutes, then a knee-jerk insult.

I appreciate a good joke as much as the next guy, but this isn’t funny enough to spend three grand for it.

They were fighting for their rights which were being encroached on.

Oh my God, I remember that digital dashboard now! I specifically remember it going dark suddenly on the highway as every single electrical system in the car failed one summer. That was the day the entire family spent in the tiny, one-horse town of Alexandria, Ontario while the GM dealership spent 7 hours trying to fix

That explains a lot. I’d only had my license for one year when my parents blamed me for “letting your goddamn friend bounce in the back seat and break the u-joint.” I had no idea what they were talking about at the time (it still doesn’t sound right) but if a teenager bouncing in the back seat can break a critical

The problem is that EVERY asshole with a badge KNOWS he can get away with executing civilians at any time. The odds of suffering any consequences beyond a couple of weeks of paid vacation are miniscule.

Too late - Trump has already sent that message loud And clear. The fish rots from the head.

Really? They’ve been awfully damn quiet about it.

I had a ‘91 Talon and I lusted after the AWD versions. This is in excellent condition, freakishly low miles and has that wonderful AWD and manual tranny combo. The Laser doesn’t look as nice as the Talon, but that’s not that big a deal. The motorized belts are an annoyance, though. Maybe I could live with them if the

My dad had a ‘77 in british racing green. Never winter driven, so small at the time that other drivers never saw it until the ran into it (the ugly rubber bumpers saved it at least 5 times) and a mechanical nightmare. God, I miss it...

The planet won’t be thankful, the planet doesn’t care. Climate change is going to take care of banning people for you and our entire civilization from neanderthal to now will vanish from the historical record. Note that as of right now we haven’t existed for one one hundredth as long as any of the dinosaurs.

I know it’s a cliche that women don’t want men to fix things, they just want them to commiserate, but I think I already know how they feel. As I mentioned earlier, the screams of anguish have reached a crescendo lately and anyone with the slightest shred of empathy knows how they feel about this. So great, I

Yeah, and who’s been responsible for that binary view taking hold? The parents of dead children pleading for sensible gun regulations - hell, ANY regulations! Or the gun nuts like the one on this thread threatening another civil war if anyone even dares to think about taking away their killing machines? You made your

I fully agree with Captain Cupholder here, but I do need to (mis)quote the Dudein this case: Lo-Fi is an asshole, but he’s not wrong.

So, in other words, update the underlying drivetrain, electronics, tires, brakes and differential and these cars would be ‘ok’? Sure. Meanwhile, the article is extolling the virtues of the class being mostly unchanged for decades due to it’s effectively obsolete body-on-frame design. Which is it?

Oh, my sweet summer children! I LEARNED TO DRIVE on a 1979 Mercury Grand Marquis, the Crown Vic’s slightly classier sibling - IN CANADA! Even with good tires the rear wheels spun wildly whenever you even looked at the gas pedal on anything other than bone-dry pavement. That car is why I refuse to use a RWD vehicle as
