No way, eh! Why give you hosers yet another enemy to get worked up aboot? We’ll just welcome your refugees while you transition into Gilead and help out with the Underground Frailroad. Won’t be the first time, eh?

Harsh, but accurate. Massachusetts is probably the most liberal state in the union and being trans would normally be no great impediment for a (relatively) low-level elected position like city council. However, running as a Republican and being against gay marriage just screams self-hatred. Not only is she working…
Certainly there are unreported bad stories, but is it really so much to think that there are many cops out there doing good work and acting appropriately?
The question is, how often are the good cops willing to stop a bad cop from doing bad things?
Yeah, if only cars came with some sort of signal device that could be used to indicate that the car is disabled and thus a road hazard that should be avoided. Maybe a set of lights that could start blinking when a button is pressed on the dashboard. We could call them ‘Hazard Lights’ and include instructions for their…
It looked like Hopper had upgraded from the ineffective light machine guns the soldiers were using to a considerably more powerful shotgun of some type (no doubt some gun nut will correct me with specific models). Regardless, he’s not stupid and he literally came back loaded for bear. Or demo-dog, in this case.
Excuse me, but we’re you even alive during the 80's? I was 14 when this was set and that word was the go-to insult on the schoolyard for the last 5 or 6 years. It was used as casually as “asshole” and it was a rare day you didn’t hear it being thrown at people. Gay rights were in their infancy and th vast majority of…
Shamelessly reposted from a comment I made a while ago about the various cars I drove while working at an auto auction:
Don’t kill them. If they break the law, arrest and prosecute them.
Want. My first car was the Canada-only version, a 1988 Chevy Sprint that my brother had beaten to hell for 4 years. He sold it to me for a dollar and gave me one lesson in driving a manual in it, then it was mine. It was a hardtop 2-door in blue with a 5spd and no A/C and I loved that little econobox to bits. My…
It’s big, floaty, numb, doesn’t come with a stick, is a gas guzzler compared to the Celica and will NEVER make it to 150K without something catastrophic going wrong. It also screams ‘retiree’ and ‘old person in a rental.’ The Celica at least makes claims to sportiness.
Exactly. The Sebring wouldn’t have made it to 150K in the first place. If, by some miracle it had, it would be a time bomb. This is a perfect car for a responsible teen driver (yes, oxymoron, I know) who can’t get into too much trouble with 135hp, will have the fun of a stick with the more stable FWD, will probably…
Oh don’t worry, we know. We can tell by the way they value property over human lives.
He really raises a good point I hadn’t specifically considered before:
You’re hiding behind a fig leaf technicality. We interpret the amendments constantly and none of them are absolute. If I can’t shout “fire” in a crowded theater then you can’t pretend that letting poor people afford cheap guns is part of the founders intent. More to the point, none of the other amendments result in…
How is any attempt to register, license and insure guns unconstitutional? The words “well regulated” are right there in the amendment. And are you seriously claiming there are no laws restricting the right to bear arms on the books right now? Go try to buy a bazooka and see how far you get. Or just a few hundred…
This concept of treating guns like cars is not only the simplest, and most effective solution, but also the most AMERICAN solution. We have an organization that can to the registration and all the accompanying bureaucracy: the local DMV. Just like with cars you’re welcome to have all the guns your liberty requires,…
Agreed - it’s great for 2, fine for 3 if the 3rd is in a booster seat, but 4 kids in car seats is just impossible.
Yep, same experience with our Mazda5. We only have one so we can get away without the roof rack, but when in-laws come to visit it’s nice to be able to load everyone into one vehicle for outings. And it drives so much like a car I tend to forget it’s actually a minivan!
