I didn’t write this, but every time Ted Cruz comes up, this classic comment always springs to mind:

I would gently encourage you to read the literature - there’s lots of it, much of it widely available - about the importance of stories for children, the lifelong effect they can have, and why millennials in particular have clung to their childhood stories in a way that makes a great deal of psychological sense.

TBF, it was written for ages 9-12 so I can’t blame them, it’s the people who thought it was GREAT LITERATURE

In fairness, nobody’s better at turning left than Nascar.

harry potter was always bad, and you have the cultural sophistication of a little baby if you think it’s good

I understand what you mean. I am flooded with nostalgia every time I hear that Paula Cole song. Youth is so wasted on the young.

I was 7 when this show came out and I remember commercials and a reference in Scary Movie a few years later. In 2004, the summer after 8th grade, I started watching the show in reruns. At the time I had a crush on my friend and neighbor who only saw me as a friend. So I started this show really resonating with Joey

That was a nice relationship, and sometimes I get sad about where it could have gone. But even with all the pain that happened between those two, it was a good example of a mature breakup. Those two still loved one another and wanted happiness for one another.

I’m just going to be straight up and say it: I hated the Pacey and Joey pairing. I think a lot of people tend to remember how great Pacey was to Joey but forget how a good chunk of their relationship was super toxic. We liked the pairing because we liked Pacey and the moments he would create for Joey, like the wall,

A friend of mine were talking about male gaze vs female gaze and the fact that Joshua Jackson is rarely cast as the romantic lead but almost always is upgraded to that spot, often against the original intentions of the work, because any time you see him next to any other dude it literally breaks down suspension of

He’s probably in full-on panic mode after just being fired, while also facing the realization that his other employment options are limited.

I loved Joey and Pacey together. I recently bought that season on Prime and have watched all of them again. I'm sure some of its nostalgia bc I was 19/20 at the time, but I still love them. I don't know one person that ever liked or related to Dawson's character. What a douchebag.

He's grown up in a bastion of privilege and with nothing but structural support for.that privilege. This is the first time that anyone, and especially wonderfully a BIPOC woman, has been able to penetrate the force field that privilege creates to tell him that he fucked up.

Have you seen the videos with him and Molly Baz? The guy is condescending as fuck.

“Now that you’ve gotten a taste of my rigorous editorial style - any job openings?”

Spot on with your recap of Dawson’s Creek. I watched for the whole ride being the exact target audience at the time. Every thing you said just reinforces how much I always thought Dawson was a douche. Also when I rewatched later on as a binge watch I was bummed to find they were not using the same music in episodes as

of all the hills to die on, this dude chooses “brown face”? and sends all these snide emails? jesus

I came late to Dawson’s Creek. Like, early Season 3 late. So by the time I got there, it was obvious to me that Dawson was a fuckboy and Joey/Pacey was EPICPLEASEJUSTKISSALREADYOMGTHEYAREKISSINGLIFEISBEAUTIFUL.
