They’re awaiting mass execution like the Jews at Dachau?
I’ve been banned for takes that contradict some of the all-time worst takes around here and can never seem to get outta the greys, most recently when I took on a take arguing that Robbie Gould was released because he was an outspoken critic of management in the context of labor relations (one of the dumbest things…
Yikes. That looks like it might be completely derivative.
+1. Kevin O’Connor’s work is consistently excellent, but they won’t be able to admit that here at Deadspin, unfortunately.
That’s a dumb take that is contradicted by evidence: (1) There have been plenty of other players who were outspoken in favor of labor who played for the Bears for years; (2) reporting indicates that Pace asked the 49’ers about getting Gould back via trade before the draft this year and the Niners said “no”; (3)…
He’s just pointing out how dumb it is to speculate without any hard info, aka, the Smith-Kellerman Method.
I totally agree re Jon’s ending, Rob. Literally a perfect encapsulation of how moved I was at the realization that - like his “father” before him - his selflessness and sense of duty and honor went not only unrecognized, but were met with a horrible punishment.
Even then, members who come to a union through new organizing campaigns typically don’t pay an initiation fee and pay discounted dues - and the raises they typically get thanks to union representation more than compensate them for the modest cost of union dues.
Jesus.
PS Steve: Brett Favre was probably the pettiest, most selfish and immature guy in the NFL while he was playing.
I’d like to know why violence towards a child wasn’t enough to get him suspended.
They have figured out series, but their original full length feature offerings have been largely poor, sometimes comically so. They remind me of the SciFi Network or Hallmark Channel.
This is what I do, and I will be back when Westworld comes back, just to see if they can fix the dumpster fire that was Season 2 after Season 1 made me think we had the best parts of LOST and GoT rolled into one show. I am going to have to get Disney for The Mandalorian (I’ve been wanting to see a live action SW show…
I agree that the Night King arc ends next week; season gets divided into two chapters.
Agreed. This episode was set-up to remind us how far these characters have come and where many of their arcs will end come next week. Its great that we got to feel that one last time with each of them. In Davos’s case, its all about that little girl, who redeemed him as a human being and gives him a reason to fight…
This place skews way too young these days to get that reference, but its freaking top notch. well done.
Probably every hockey upset can be traced back to this.
Sadly I agree - the 2nd season wasn’t just not memorable, it was in many ways incoherent. Much of it felt like filler, and the end was confusing from a tonal and structural point of view. They probably feel like they can’t stay in the park forever and make it interesting, and that makes sense. But the notion that…
Serious question: do you think that the issue being raised at all is a sign of over-sensitivity, or a legit concern and inquiry?
Bridges has played one year on a terrible team. Brandon Rush was a COMPLETELY different player. Your argument is invalid.
