The Dark Knight Rises is better than The Batman.
The Dark Knight Rises is better than The Batman.
I have a buddy who I grew up with. He was fucking poor, like, my mom used to pack an extra lunch for me to give him, and sometimes he’d come to my house and leave with a bag full of my clothes poor. Anyway, this kid got his shit together and got himself through school and got a decent job. He managed to buy a rental…
Danny DeVito is RIGHT THERE!
It’s all bad, and obviously people have a right to speak up when and however they please, but so much of the issue remains maddeningly non-specific.
Does anyone remember when there were sexual assault allegations against a Girls writer, and Dunham came out in support of the accused, saying she had inside information that proved the victim was lying, and then admitted a year later that she completely made that up?
So apparently Nathan was asked a question about Joss, and he answered it. Why is that confusing?
There aren’t enough roles in Hollywood for pretty white girls in their 20s
It’s interesting because as an 80s/90s kid, I still hear the gruff, Noo Yawk Mario voice from the supershow/smb3/smw cartoons. I’ve gotten used to Martinet’s higher registered take but it was *jarring* when I first played Mario 64.
The Trigun opening, linked above, is one of the greatest anime openings of all time — at least as good as the Cowboy Bebop opening, in my opinion.
I agree with where this article is coming from, i.e. trying to recognize the privilege of white people that we’ve become blind to and find ways to correct for it... but this article isn’t doing statistics correctly.
That’s how you know its Christopher Nolan.
At least most of the bad Japanese live-action films do us the mercy of not getting released here. With some exceptions
The best description I’ve heard of this show, and its tonal change over its run, is “Imagine if Christopher Nolan made a direct sequel to Batman and Robin, and he made it make sense.”
Slide #6, Eggs and Rice:
this is the best way to say that you didn’t read the article.
I checked a video of the thing functioning normally, and it doesn’t have the “airbag” line. So, in other words, they must have actually recorded backup lines which automatically kick in if the thing malfunctions. Which, honestly, is kind of hilarious.
this isn’t even a Sam Barsanti article, which SHOCKED me when I glanced at the byline
WOW! I mean, I know AV Club has turned into taking verbatim snippets from Variety, HR and Deadline, (Often just literally cut and paste), and you want some Leto snark, but, the fuck? That interview is crazy good, and would make a nice think piece, but none of that’s here.
1 Being overly negative
If the U.S. went entirely carbon-neutral today it would barely make a tiny dent in the issue of climate change. Most pollution comes from developing nations, not the U.S. This will harm Americans without actually changing anything.
