Or the mushroom episode.

Right right. When Vicious starts his coup the old guy is like “You never would have done this if Spike were still here” and Vicious basically rampages for the rest of the show with no real end goal besides kill everyone bloody.

This isn’t explicitly stated but just about every other Red Dragon character we meet reacts to Spike along the lines of “I wish you hadn’t left” or “things would be different if you were still here” etc. Spike had everyone’s loyalty but didn’t give two shits about the power. Vicious wanted all of the power but had

a tale / Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, / Signifying nothing.”

You’ve already said what I came here to say. All of his charitable contributions have proven he’s a good person that’s enjoying life. Though, I don’t really know what that last paragraph was all about.

I was right there within you until that last half paragraph, then it seemed like Matt was just trying to project controversy where he could.

If you can’t just admire a man’s affable persona and good works without knowing whether he’s a ride-or-die partisan for Your Side, that’s on you, not him.

When it came to last summer’s Black Lives Matter protests, his social media account “goes dark. Not a black square box. There’s silence,” says Contois.

If you don’t know what to think of a guy who does all of these wonderful, charitable things until you can figure out who he votes for — that is a YOU problem.

Dude’s putting the work in. Measurably. I could not give less of a shit about his political beliefs.

do we HAVE to dig into this guy who on the surface seems genuinely willing to help people (and/or not hurt or persecute vulnerable minorities) AND will put his money where his mouth is in that regard? I don’t get the desire to dig up controversy with someone who aggressively avoids it in the name of protecting his

He may be a Republican, or conservative, or something else entirely; I don’t really care. I just want to watch a show that entertains me, and that’s what DDD does. Guy doesn’t go out saying horrible things, and while some may consider that a low standard, I don’t believe every public figure needs to be the forefront

It’s possible that the AV Club has got it wrong. I mean, they repeatedly sing the praises of The Last Jedi when that film made even Star Wars boring.

I saw Sicario (An adolescent power fantasy on how to right wrongs through the power of magical thinking)“

What kind of receipts prove that someone owns that ziploc bag of $87,000?

Exactly this. Very unlikely someone holding large amounts of cash and avoiding banks is on the up and up. If the child suppport story is correct then this guy got what he deserved. He did get his money back. Now everyone, including his wife, knows he can pay up.

“I left there confused. I left there angry,” Lara said in an interview with The Washington Post. “And I could not believe that I had just been literally robbed on the side of the road by people with badges and guns.”

I’m not condoning this behavior in any way, once they decide not to pursue charges, they should not be able to keep anything they seize from you.

I assume in Australia, you only have to memorize the four non-poisonous snakes.
